I installed the "no-drill" Gripp grab bar in our tiled shower. Our tiles are smooth, 6" squares. I was concerned about getting all the soap scum and mineral deposits (very hard water) off the surface of the tile before applying the adhesive. The instructions are clear that the surface must be perfectly clean and dry or else the adhesive likely won't hold. The only hitch I encountered was that I forgot to mark which end of the bar was attached to which which base when I unscrewed them to squeeze in the adhesive. After the adhesive had cured for 24 hours when I went back to reinstall permanently the bar had switched and the holes didn't line up perfectly. When I understood what happened, I rotated the bar 180 degrees and it fit again perfectly. Also pay attention to the instructions to rotate the end caps until they smoothly fit over the adhesive base plate. They won't snap on in just any position.

If I didn't see this for myself I wouldn't believe it. I was leary at first. I never thought something like this could work but it does. We just remodeled our bathroom with a deep soaker tub which is a little difficult to get in and out of. There isn't much of a ledge to hold onto on the wall side of the tub so you could easily slip especially with wet hands. I didn't want to have to drill into our new porcelain tile so I bought this one and installed it right above the tub. It was easy to install, is extremely strong and looks great. It is pricey but worth it.

Installed this bar in a friend's shower that had beautiful floor to ceiling tile. If I installed a standard safety bar into the existing studs it would be too close to the rimless glass door so that the door would not close properly. Additionally, there was always the risk of damaging the tiles. The bar went on without a hitch (the instructions were flawless), and my friend is thrilled that they have a good looking, safe grab bar in their shower. Another example of thorough German engineering! The cost is about twice as much as a bar requiring drilling, but it is well worth it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 24inch Installation instructions were clear and easy to follow; product mounting process went smoothly without any problem. I mounted two bars on ceramic tiles in a stall shower, one horizontal and one at 45 degrees. The most difficult part of the process was peeling the protective paper off the adhesive mounting plates. One tip I'd suggest for mounting on ceramic tile is to mark the selected tiles after cleaning, I put a piece of masking tape on each tile to insure placing the bar mounts on a cleaned tile surface.

The customer reviews that are negative are because they did not prepare the surface properly.
(1) Use a Scotchbrite sponge with some Barkeepers' Friend of other type of cleanser. Scrub the surface thoroughly and then dry it.
(2) Use a piece of 400 grit wet/dry sandpaper and rub the tile surface where the bars will be attached, and then wipe away any dust.
(3) Clean surface thoroughly with acetone (better than rubbing alcohol) and then dry surface.
The install process is a piece of cake if you read the instructions and watch the YouTube video.

True to its advertisement, the installation is easy and straightforward. The instruction is easy to follow, plus the video put out by Draad is helpful as well. At first, I thought the price may be a bit high. But after considering the need and cost of hiring a contractor if this is a screw mount item that needs drilling into tiles, the price is justified.
One consideration though, if you have small tiles in your shower / bathroom wall and the sticking surface consists of grout lines, then you may consult with Draad first before buying this item. Draad does not say whether its products would work on surfaces that have grout lines or not.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Smartshopper98 Great shower grip
This grip was easy to install, you have to use another shower for a day or so, but afterwards the grip looks like it was part of the shower from the beginning. It didn't require drilling so it didn't harm the surface of the shower. Great product and helps for support in the shower!
