Answer:
The max rating for this product per the specification listed in Home Depot is 250 lbs. Since this is not a direct attached item (i.e. with screws through the wall), I would think this is too close for comfort for you. I would find another item that has higher weight rating.

Answer:
According to the instructions, you should be able to remove the residue from the adhesive with a scraping tool. Please phone the U.S. distributor to order more base plates at the number shown on the instructions or ask The Home Depot. Hope this is helpful to you.

I believe Draad does sell a kit with spare mounting plate, glue, etc. You should check with Draad. Of course, you should clean up the surface really well if you plan to re-install at the same location.

What if water gets behind the round disks would it loosen the glue? I am concerned that it may work well initially, but then pull off shower wall. Do you have longevity statistics? We really would like to purchase, but fear that my mom might fall in the shower and the bars would not stay attached to the wall.

After curing for at least 24 hours, per the installation instruction from Draad, water should not be able to get behind the glued area. And if you have tiles, I am not certain if the product will work well with small tiles, e.g. less than 3" square. I do not know if the glue will work well if the surface include grout lines. Best check with Draad. I do not have longevity data and have not seen such info online. Some reviews have mentioned they have the product for a few years. I only have the grab bar for one month.
There have been customers returning the items because they came off after short periods. Questions then arose if the customers did the installation correctly. I saw one reply that one customer supposedly did not use the supplied cleaning cloth, still in the sealed bag.
Since safety is the most concern for such grab bars for shower / bath tub, if they do not perform, I doubt Draad will still be in business.

Once the adhesive is cured on a properly cleaned and prepared surface, the bond is not affected by the shower environment. The key for this system is a proper attention to cleaning the surface prior to installation. This system has been used internationally since 2001 and is a proven performer. We do not however recommend this for use under water or in a commercial steam shower as this is the same as being submerged. Read Less

I think there is a space between the molded shower stall and the actual bathroom wall as it has some very minor flex in the molded shower stall wall.

Answer:
Hi Floridaretired,
Your fiberglass enclosure is most likely attached directly to the studs, with the remaining space open. Thus the grab bar must be attached only to the studs to be secure.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great grab bar installation instructions are well written. Take your time and read instructions carefully. Beautiful product. very safe. August 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by German Technology @ it's BEST!!!!! NO DRILLING. REMARKABLE !!!! Have already recommended to QUITE a few people. I hurt my lumbar spine BADLY falling onto my tailbone in the ladies room @ work & needed REAL support in the shower. NO more cracking the window open & using that to hold on to!!! I prepared the bars for maintenance to install. Usually, I would be able to take care of the entire project; but I am not FULLY healed because the Workers Comp. Insurance Carrier is holding back on my treatments & recovery. Maintenance NEVER saw anything like this before. They were SO impressed with the product & ease of installation. When they came back after the adhesive cured, they couldn't believe how sturdy the bars were BEFORE finishing the job. My FEAR of showering after my injury has greatly decreased. I now have REAL support in the shower!!!!!! NO MORE cracking the window open & using that to hold on to!!! The supplier: nodrillingrequired.com TRULY stands behind their products with GREAT customer service!!!! Home Depot should really consider carrying ALL of their product lines. The Boomers aren't getting any younger!!!!! February 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very high quality and well designed The German quality shows in this well-designed product. Because it attaches with an adhesive, no drilling is required to mount it. That was important for us mounting it on a tile surface above a bathtub. Careful care must be taken when placing the triangle shaped attachments prior to injecting the adhesive. If not, the bar won't attach to them after the cement cures. This bar is not designed to mount onto drywall! June 24, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Haven't installed them yet The grab bars for our new Roman whirlpool tub have not been installed yet. I do like the look of them, the brushed chrome handles are attractive. I also like the fact that they are no drill, but attach right on the tile. I hope it works. May 17, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Fastening system does not work The installation process seems to go well but the barn fell off the wall after about two weeks. The quality of the actual bar seems excellent. Home Depot has not responded to a request to Customer Service. May 20, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by No Drilling Required I reviewed the online (YouTube) installation video before deciding about purchase. I did not want to drill through ceramic tile and have to remove and patch later. Although the Nie Wieder Bohren (roughly translated as: No More Drilling) is more expensive, I consider it worth the price. Time will tell if my proper cleaning of the tile and prep work will keep the bars adhering to the tile. April 26, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not for marble tiles! This product depends on the product sticking to your tiles or wall. In my case the bar would not even begin to stick to my 12 x 12 marble tiles. They should list marble as a surface which does not work with their adhesive. Returned. April 19, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bath bar I installed bar according to instructions making sure I cleaned area as instructed. Three days later bar fell off the wall March 7, 2016
