Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Silent and effective Ice Maker It was really easy to install it, and it didn't take too long to start working, it does make clear ice, at least I didn't had any issues with it so far. The quality of the material doesn't feel very strong, but it still looks good, a bit smaller than expected. July 31, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Value I have only had this ice maker for about 3 weeks now. It replaced an old Scotsman under counter model 20 + years old. Have seen complaints about noise but for me it is much quieter than my old one. I have it in the garage and it’s winter the ambient temperature is about 50 deg F. In these conditions it makes a lot of ice. It can fill the bin in about 4 hours. It will be much slower in the summer though just don’t know yet. Sometimes I load the ice into my refrigerator dispenser during a party. The “cubes” are very big they barely fit through the ice dispenser in my refrigerator. I am going to just get an ice bucket for parties now. Yes you need a condensate pump or a drain handy. I already had a condensate pump that was a replacment /repair for my old ice maker. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Makes a lot of ice ... that tastes funny This ice maker is really fast ... it is also pretty loud and needs to have a drain line installed ... a flexible drain hose comes with it but you need to have a drain somewhere to direct the condensation/melting. We had it in the garage but ended up returning it because the ice had a metallic flavor (aluminum, I think) ... that was a real pity, because this thing really churns out the ice !!! April 24, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Does not work Second unit, the first one did not work out of the box, now less than 10 months old has broken down twice. Must call manufacturer for repairs, average wait time, 30 days for each repair. cost was $619 for repairs under warranty each time. ,{ control box, water pump and labor} thankfully I did not have to pay for the them but will have too when it breaks again. manufacturer refuses to replace, their customer service representatives are no help, and downright rude. they stated it was their policy not to replace, but to repair, when I asked about the policy in writing they refused to provide it.. awaiting to see if home depot can help me resolve it. but I'm being told after 90 days is no longer their responsibility. contacting home depot again to see where they stand with customer service, May 12, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Ice Maker We are really enjoying our new ice maker for our outdoor pool bar. The ice maker was easy to set up as I just plugged it in, connected the water line and set up the drain line. It took longer to unpackage than it took me to set up. And it is heavy so I would recommend 2 people. Ice was instantly on its way and I would say the bin filled in just a couple of hours. The ice cubes are perfect. I do not know how much energy we are using but I am assuming we are losing some energy through the top opening. A hard close top to keep the cold in would be a good idea. Regardless we enjoy so far. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Compact size allows for fit in tight areas Makes very large ice cubes which someone may or may not like. Quiet, compact for tight areas and noise reduction. Lid could be a little better quality. Very light weight easily breakable lid. Expected a little more for what we paid. April 3, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not near what I expected.... Does not make anywhere near 65lbs of ice per day....I am totally disappointed with it. August 1, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Compressor failed after one year & that was the replacement unit! I purchased this unit two years ago and the maker started producing smaller and smaller quantities of ice. After a very lengthy and frustrating time dealing with the company to replace it (they had someone come repair/look at it and repeatedly it did not get fixed), they took months of me calling out of chagrin to finally ship out a new one to replace... I honestly believe they were trying to get it to go past the 1-year warranty mark. Meanwhile, I had also spent hundreds of dollars in bagged ice/weekly because they wouldn't swap it out sooner. Now, that I have the replacement it is at the 1 year mark again and has stopped making ice again. The repairman said the compressor failed (he was shocked that it is only a year old). Keep in mind that it is maintained meticulously and coils are vacuumed regularly. So , now I am awaiting a new compressor that will cost me $500 (parts/install) to fix the replacement unit. Two duds is too much of a coincidence. Avoid this unit - if for any reason... due to the stalled response of the customer service and lack of support when knowing it's costly me extra the more they delay replacement. That's what a warranty is suppose to be for... especially after the intial repair did not work on 4 visits! August 6, 2013
