To lock the door, push in the privacy button. To unlock the door, simply turn the inside doorknob. To gain emergency access from the non-locking side of the door... insert a small, blunt instrument (the enclosed Allen wrench works well) into the emergency hole located next to the doorknob. Pushing gently will disengage lock.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best door knob Very sturdy, and looks great with my heavy antique door. We LOVE it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2nd review In my first review, I noted the really dark color. This is due to it actually being oil-rubbed. This is not a painted faux finish as seen on other products (faucets, electrical wallplates, etc.). To get a nice worn look, you will need a green scrubbing pad, dish soap, and water. I gently rubbed the finish with a green scrubbing pad until I had the look I wanted. Ever so often, I would rinse and check my progress until I got the look I wanted with highlights visible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Requires finishing the finish Like other person said, it is darker than expected. I used a green scrubbing pad and dish wash soap to gradually rub off the oil (yes it is greasy oil) to get highlights until I got the look I wanted

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy hardware darker color than expected The hardware is absolutely quality stuff. I had already purchased some in the Pewter finish and wanted to do something different in another room and opted for the Oil-rubbed bronze, which we have for light switch wallplates, for example. I was hoping for some reddish or copper highlights as seen in other products. Unfortunately, the Oil-rubbed bronze is much darker, nearly black. This does have a nice vintage look for those wanting something that looks like cast iron. Only would need white porcelien knobs to complement. Not sure if we will use these on other rooms as we need to let the look settle in. Abslolutely smooth and solid movement.
