Rated 5 out of 5 by Over the door Awning We've always had an awning over our entry door so when the one we've had for years finally saw its last day I began searching for a replacement. We just installed this today and it was easy to install and it looks great! Will see now if it stands the test of wind and snow. September 19, 2009

Rated 1 out of 5 by didn't like the frame. I have installed many awnings in the previouse years on several houses I owned and worked on. I didn't like the way the frame was constructed. all the support bars were flat and a flat surface is easier to bend then a round rod. I also didn't like the way the bars were screwed together. When it came via UPS( naturally) it was damaged. I had to bend the house mounting bracket back into shape in order for it to install on the house. ( thats what I mean about the flat bar rather then a round rod) If I were not in a hurry to complete the project I would have sent it back. I am considering this a test to see just how long this will last before I find it in a pile after the first storm. On the upside.....the color was great and so was the price, "ya get what ya pay for" July 23, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by It's bigger than I thought it would be. Excellent product so far but it hasn't gone through a Maine winter as yet. Screws were very long so anticipate a good hold. Worried about fading - but it's new. June 5, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Does not hold up to weather I bought two of these awnings about 5 years ago. They clearly are made only for parts of the country with pretty benign weather. I happen to live in a part of the country that has pretty hot summers and pretty cold & snowy winters, and these awnings don't do very well in either of these situations. The fabric, as near as I can tell, has no UV protection. So it fades and weakens in only a few years due to sunlight. If I lived in the southwest where I grew up where it would get enormous sun exposure, I doubt the fabric would last more than a year. The other problem with the awning is the mounting hardware is very light weight. The awning attaches to the building with a very flimsy light rail system, and the outer edge is supported by horizontal struts that also mount to the building. The net effect is that if weight is placed upon the awning, such as from snow, the struts act as levers causing the base to try to pull away from the building. The very first year, one of my units collapsed while I was at work during a snow storm due to snow loading. It pulled itself out of their flimsy rail system. The snow was dry powder, maybe a foot, so not much weight at all. I learned from that experience that if you live where it snows, you'd better clear the snow off the awning ASAP, especially in early Fall or late Spring, where snow/rain mixes may develop. So I ended up beefing up the mounting hardware considerably all around. In the end, the fabric deterioration issue limited the total lifetime of the awnings to 5 years, which it is pitifully short.
