Can this be used for deck building and fence/gate repair and building?

Asked by: JM
I do not see why not. I put 3", 2 3/8", and 2" galvanized nails through it. They all functioned just fine.

It works as good as any of the much more expensive nail guns I've purchased in the past. Unclear just how long it will last but I'm just a weekend warrior so it will probably last long enough for the low cost. Have built a shed with it so far. Worked great!

At first I was worried when it arrived and taking it out of the box was sooooo big, but held on angle, it is not heavy! It is also TRULY< FULLY ASSEMBLE. The only thing you have to do is por a couple drops of oil directly into the air line (Yes, it comes with a tiny oil bottle, and you are not supposed to put too much), then you just pop air hose right onto the locking gun and the nailer is activated once you press the head against an board and pull the black trigger (*if you want a press and it shoots trigger, you are supposed to ADD the red trigger which comes with it in the box, like a roofer doing fast repetitive motions--I like the press and shoot trigger, safer). Great tool and easy to reload the lines of nails.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Get what you pay for Broke in 8 months. You get what you pay for. Wish I'd have spend an extra $150 on a Hitachi. You really need to baby this thing, unlike my coworkers who drop their Hitachis on a regular basis and keep on truckin. Things I disliked about it: -Nails are difficult to load. -Gun is big and doesn't fit in tight places -Heavy and weight is not supported well by where you hold the gun. You get tired from holding this thing all day. Shoots well tho. Till it broke

I don't have extensive experience with nail guns, but this one works great. I bought it to rebuild a wood picket fence and used it with a 6 gallon pancake compressor. I was able to complete the project in a few hours and it would have taken me an entire weekend without it. My only complaint is when you get down to 3-4 nails left on the strip it stops feeding them and you have to put a new strip in there, but that is a minor issue.

I'm glad I bought it last month. The only thing I don't like about it is that you lose the last 5 nails because they jam at the end of the ream. It may be the nails I bought but they are name brand from Home Depot so that shouldn't be the problem. It did this consistently over many reams of nails. Even with that it's a great labor saving tool for the price.

Shot about a dozen nails and had a jam, in turn after clearing the jam the thing would not do anything so i had to take the head off and the piston was stuck. After getting unstuck it has worked flawlessly. Only reason not a 5 star rating is i had to take it apart after 15 minutes of use. Other than that a very cheap and somewhat reliable nail gun for the average diy'r. I am rather impressed for the price and reliability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from NuMax 21 degree nailer The nailer was purchased to install a vertical shadow box fence using 250-1x4x6 pressure treated planks and 2 inch hot dipped galvanized ring shanked nails. Using a hammer and nails would be time consuming, noisey, and the repetitive motion would futher damage my hand and wrist. The nailer performed admirably on the fence and a shed build. Why pay more for a high end nailer for home projects?
