I purchased the Numax Model SFL618 for installing my Bruce 3/4" x 3 1/2" hardwood floor in my home. I used 2" L-Cleat nails on my job. This unit is very sturdy, easy to use right out of the box, and made the job easy to complete.
As a DIYer, I suggest a few things if you are new to doing flooring installations.
(1) Take a scrap piece of hardwood and find a place on your subflooring to try out this unit. This will get you comfortable with using the nailer, and also help you to determine the right pressure setting for your compressor. Too little pressure, the nail won't drive through, too much, and you can split the tongue of the wood piece.
(2) This nailer won't help with the perimeter of the room if the nailer butts up against a wall. You should have a brad nail-gun to go directly through the finished wood surface, then use wood filler to cover the nail head. Do practice nailing with this gun also; you may find you need more or less pressure from the compressor.

It was cheaper to purchase the Pneumatic 3-in-1 Flooring Nailer and Stapler then to rent one..
For the price it worked excellent..
It was a wise purchase.

This product came without the mallet then it broke very quickly. The store manager made it better and when I went to the store they replaced item with a huge upgrade. I felt guilty about taking it and tried to find alternatives that would work but in the end they kind of made me take the giant upgrade. I feel as though I have to use this location for all of my hardware needs now.

I bought the nail gun to put a hardwood floor in my bedroom and it worked great, I shot 1500 nails without a hitch. You can't beat it for the price.

I work slow, so renting a flooring nailer was not a good option for me. Buying one is expensive, but it doesn't have to break the bank. This nailer had many good reviews, and I will add one more to the pile. I bought this nailer online, and it was delivered to my door in a week, maybe less. I attached the handle, gave it a bit of oil, air pressure at 90 psi and some L cleats. The first trial shots were perfect. In fact, every cleat I fired was perfect. Except for the one that I didn't hammer hard enough. The air drives the nails, but you need to give a good whack. It drives the nailer down, pushes the piece you're nailing into its mate and counteracts the nail driving force. This is a tough toool....no need to be gentle.

I bought this for 700 square feet of oak hardwood flooring. So it worked great for about 500 square feet. Then it acted like it had a nail jam, but it just quite working. It was a big let down.

I went out on a limb and bought this Numax floor stapler because it has such good reviews. I have zero regrets! This thing works like a champ. I just finished about 500sf of solid 3/4 red oak with no problems whatsoever. I had 800sf total and did the first 300sf with the floor stapler Home Depot rents for $32 for 24hrs. I could tell no difference, and I didn't have to worry about getting it back on time. I could also use the same 1 1/2" Bostitch staples I was using with the Home Depot rental (good thing cause I bought a case). With the wood I have left over I think I'll knock out the walk in closet. I own my own floor stapler! Smart purchase.
