Good tool at a good price (compared against others on HD shelf). Great operation, even repair when I caused it to jam (didn't hit hard enough). Follow earlier recommendations - drop of oil every time you load the staples.

First time laying a floor and boy was it a job. I had read the reviews on this gun before purchasing and decided it was worth the risk, and way better than renting one for 70$ a day. Was able to work at my own pace without feeling rushed. I used the power nail 1 3/4" cleats in this gun. Only one jam during the whole flooring job and it cleared easily. I would recommend if you're a guy like me who likes doing things yourself (to see they're done right) and you plan on laying hardwood BUY THIS GUN. I even have decided to not sell the gun at our annual garage sale, as originally planned, after the install. It's a terrific value and these reviews are extremely accurate. Thanks for reading.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Waldeje Fantastic Tool
I am so glad I purchased this tool for my flooring project. I used 2" staples for my 3/4" oak tongue and groove laid atop a 1-1/2" sub floor. I had ZERO problems with the tool, no misfires at all just a few bent staples that likely were shot into an existing nail in the sub floor. I added a few drops of oil each time a reloaded the magazine. If I had rented a nail gun I would have had to work much faster in order to minimize costs. Instead I worked at my own pace over the course of 4 days and I still have the gun. In my mind, the gun was not nearly as loud as other reviews led me to believe.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Jetchris Get MORE Than You Pay For.....FINALLY!
My wife and I decided to install our Bruce hardwood ourselves. So, I chose to use the NuMax nailer to install 800 square feet of 2 1/4 by 3/4 inch solid red oak flooring. The nailer worked flawlessly. I used about 7,000 Bostitch 2 inch 16 gauge L cleats and had ZERO jams. I used a 150 psi pancake compressor set at 100-105 psi. I also used a couple drops of nailer oil about every third time I refilled the cleats. This proved to be way cheaper than renting a nailer. Plus, I didn't feel the time crunch to get the job done. This was my first installation of solid hardwood flooring and I am a DIY guy. I highly recommend the NuMax flooring nailer to professionals and novices alike.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by diycolorado Good product for the money
Product came on time, was very simple to assemble, and worked very well. A great value vs renting a similar item. Will pay back in just a few days and then can be used for future jobs. Just remember to either buy an air hose or get it with the compressor. I used a 10 gallon compressor with this tool at 100PSI. That was overkill for a realistic installation pace. A 5 gallon would have been sufficient.

This is an excellent nailer. Used it with 1.5" staples to install 600 square feet of strand woven bamboo flooring and it worked perfectly. Never had a jam and is excellent quality.
** Pro Tip ** put about 5 drops of oil in the air port each time you refill the staples or nails and it will stay well oiled and prevent jams.
** Pro Tip 2 ** I put some liquid whiteout on the teeth on both sides of the nailer (see picture) so I could easily see that it was lined up. Black nailer on dark wood makes it hard to see, but with a little white, I could easily see it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by newtooluser This is a great product and value for the cost.
This product provides the versatility for 3 types of blind nailing applications. Instruction manual was helpful but some portions could be explained more clearly. Like other reviews, the importance of using pneumatic tool oil regularly will prevent misfire, jams of the plunger due to dryness. Once oiled there were no problems with the plunger. Experienced only one nail jam (using "t" cleats). Overall, this product was easy to use and performed well. I'd reccomend this product to others.

Bought this on sale for $99. Dumb move. Went to start my flooring project and it wouldn't drive anything all the way to the tongue. Tried all three fastener types -- 2 inch staples, 1 1/2 inch staples, and 2 inch L - cleats -- it left all three a quarter inch short. Tried adjusting the air pressure, 90, 95, all the way up to 120. Still, 1/4 inch short. After cussing it out one afternoon I got up the next morning and returned it and bought the Husky for $200. Finished my project with that nailer without one problem-- no jams and every nail was driven the correct depth. DO NOT BUY THE NUMAX. YOU'LL REGRET IT!!!
