Does the 765HL require a seperate circuit or can it be wired to the existing power in the bathroom? If it requires a seperate circuit, can one circuit handle two units?

It depends on what size circuit breaker you have and the other items that are on that circuit. If it is 14-2 wire, then you may run into problems with running the heater and a high-load item such as hair dryer at the same time without tripping the breaker. If your existing bathroom power is run from a circuit that serves other bathrooms or bedrooms (which is typical) then you will likely run into problem when running multiple items at the same time. The box specifically states that a 20-amp dedicated circuit breaker is required and while I do not believe it needs to be a dedicated circuit, it needs to be a very low-load circuit. I have mine wired through a 15-amp circuit that only serves the bathroom GFCI but it was previously wired with 14-2 wire. Mine will trip the breaker when the heater is running and a hair dryer...solution: Don't run the heater when you have to use a hair dryer. For your question as to if one circuit will handle two units...I think that would be similar to my heater and hair dryer scenario, so you're going to be pushing the limits of the circuit, especially if you're using the lights and maybe even the fan at the same time as the heater. I recently installed this unit in may existing bathroom that had just the fan. 14/2 wire was used on existing fan. I removed the switch and covered ends using wire nuts. Hi, Greg. Thank you for your question concerning the P66W and this Heat/Vent/Light unit. Yes, the P66W is one of the switches we recommend for this unit. Since this unit contains a heater, it is necessary to have a 20 amp dedicated circuit. If you have any further questions and would like to speak with a Technical Support person, please dial 888-336-6151 and they will be happy to assist you further. Read More

Answer:
The fan and heater cannot be on the same switch. We would recommend using a 3 function switch, like model 66W, to allow each function to operate independently.

Answer:
Thanks for the question. Most heaters need to be flat on the ceiling as does this one. If you need one that can be installed in 12/12 pitch ceiling, check out model QTXN110HFLT or the 665RP. If you have questions before you begin this project contact our Technical Support Department at 888-336-6151. Thanks, again.

100 CFM Ceiling Exhaust Bath Fan with Light and Heater is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 49.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good so far RE: NuTone 100 CFM Ceiling Exhaust Bath Fan with Light and Heater I ordered this to replace my existing unit (unknown brand) in my master bathroom. The installation was easy and straight forward. This unit is much quieter than my old unit, and has a nice clean appearance. We only use the heat function a few times during the year, but it is nice for taking the chill from the room.

I should have bought the Panasonic. It has better reviews. I'll have to contact NuTone to see what to do about this.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from QUIET FAN IN HEAT, LIGHT AND VENT UNIT This vent is quiet...2 sones (for comparison, a normal conversation is 6 sones). It has a powerful 100 cfm (cubic feet per minute) fan and it's warm too. 1500 watt high-output heating unit. It's also bright. It can accommodate up to 100 watt incandescent bulb. Installation is relatively simple using included brackets that fit between joist, though some drywall modifications will probably be necessary. wiring is straight forward for a triple switch or a three gang box with three single pole switches. The unit has a grid dimension of 11.5 x 17.5 inches. It looks good and will go with most bathroom decor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bath Fan This fan comes with a light and heater and we got it to replace our very old similar fixture in our master bathroom. The old fan was very loud and this one works much better, quieter and smoother.(I suppose the age of the old fan affected its performance.) Having the choice of a light and heater is a great addition to a bathroom fan. Our previous home only had a fan with no light, no heater and having all in one ceiling unit is a bonus. It's design is smooth and simple, which is exactly what I wanted. You may need help installing it if you're not a handy person though.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Moisture out, heat on...Ready for winter This NuTone exhaust bath fan has a powerful 100 CFM motor and has a relatively quite operation. I used it to replace a current bath fan but without the heating function. The instruction for wiring and installation was clear and straightforward. You are able to adjust the heat direction so you can get heat in a reasonable short period of time. I put a LED bulb in it and it's got me great light through the lens. Great product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great fan/heat combo We got this fan to replace our old exhaust fan that was very loud. It was very easy to install and fits between the joists in the ceiling. Wiring was pretty straight forward with no surprises. I was shocked how much more quiet this fan was than our previous fan. The heater in the fan also works well. Our bathroom is the coldest room in the house but the heater heats it up quite nicely on a cold winter morning.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent heater coverage Pleasantly surprised that heat is directed where needed and not out the exhaust! The fan is pleasantly quiet. It's nice that so many features can be included in one product. Light, exhaust fan and very warm heater. Switch on the heater and you will be surprised how fast your bathroom will be heated on a cold winter morning without waking the whole house with a noisy fan!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good quality and workmanship This NuTone 100 CFM Ceiling Exhaust Bath Fan with Light and Heater is relatively quiet. I replaced an older 1980’s bath fan, light, and heater that was very noisy. Luckily the wiring for the switches matched up but I did have to make some cuts from the round hole to a square hole. The instructions were brief but clear and straightforward. The heat direction is adjustable and the vent fan is easy to tap into existing vent systems to move the humidity out of the bathroom. The unit comes with rails that attach to the ceiling joists, they’re adjustable to fit the width needed. I have noticed on other models with heaters that the heat fuse located on the heating element will blow after about a year’s operation. So, make note of the model number before you seal it up and be prepared to get a replacement heating element for the next winter. I recommend putting an LED bulb in for economics and longevity. All in all. This is a good product.
