Does this product have separate electrical circuits for the fan and bulb?

Asked by: Anonymous
Both functions can operate independently using two switches.

Does the bulb heat well?

Some reviewers were stating that the heat generated by the bulb, just goes right up into the vent. I have a small 5x5 foot bathroom, and was wondering how well the unit heats? Thanks.
Asked by: sandiegodavid
We have a small bathroom and it heats it extremely well. Don't run the fan at the same time and heat will not go up into vent.

if from my fan dripping water, what it is and what Ihave to do

Asked by: Anonymous
I've never experienced that problem. It's possible, I suppose, with a long duct, very steamy bathroom, and a very cold attic. Solutions (1# insulate the duct. #2) slant the duct slightly toward the outside outlet. If those don't work, get a bigger fan because you have a very steamy bathroom.

That made part of the installation easy because I could use the screws that were already in the ceiling joists to hang the mounting rails. Also, the wiring was exactly the same so I did not have to figure anything out. The only thing to be aware of is that you need to be able to get at the unit from above. There is an attic with no floor boards above my bathroom so I could replace the unit from above. If there is a room with a floor above the bathroom, I don't think that the unit can be installed from below. I could not find a way to fit it through the hole in the ceiling. My old unit was clogged with dust and I was amazed at how much faster and better the new unit removed steam from the bathroom.

I purchased this fan/light because it is the same model number that I have installed in the bathroom now, and a few of the reviews I read stated, it is a direct replacement to there older units. With that in mind, the plan was to use the parts to update my existing fan without having to remove and install the sheet metal housing. (no attic access) As the saying goes best laid plans, the assembly may be a direct replacement , but the internal parts have been changed over the years. It turned out to be a little more work then I had hoped for.

Exact replacement for 40+ year old unit, although under a different brand name. Not used as a heater -- simply a large wattage LED R40 bulb. Wiring diagram unambiguous. Used aluminum tape to seal penetrations and to rim at ceiling cutout. Did not include strain relief hardware for electrical cable. Much quieter than original unit, even when that one was new. (Replaced because fan motor was on last legs.)
