Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by the product performs the tasks installation was easy enough. product is still a little loud. this was a replacement install so it retrofitted easily. the housing of the unit is considerably thinner which probably accounts for the increased noise July 14, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bath exhaust and heater! Easy install, just needed two lines so the fan and heater are controlled by separate wall switches. Effective exhaust and great heat but both have a noticeable fan sound. Not loud but definitely noticeable. February 25, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Light bulb burns light lens I put the recommended light bulb in the socket and in short order it burned a hole in the light lens. Otherwise everything else seems to work fine. June 16, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Peice of Garbage This thing has failed completely TWICE in only seven years. After about a year, the heater went out. We lived with that for 2 years since we didn't use it much. later the fan went out. I bought another identical unit to pulled the guts (cheaper then buying parts separately) I figured I was good to go. Well, another year later, the heater failed again. It blows for 10 seconds and fails. And now, the fan is making a lot of noise. I pulled the cover to see that the plastic has gone brittle and broken, allowing the fan to rattle around. Also, it has rust all over, any genius would have known to use stainless steel or aluminum. NOTE the cracks and rust after 7 years (or 3 if you count the replacement) I called NuTone to complain and they offered to sell me more low quality parts. When I explained FOUR failures in 7 years is not acceptable and I wanted parts for free this time, they asked for receipts...Who keeps receipts for stuff like this? Low Quality unit. It will be tough, but I will find a different brand unit that fits the same big hole... STEER CLEAR OF THIS unit October 8, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Quality going downhill Replaced a 20yr old 665N model (no repair parts or extremely expensive), and you'd think they would keep the interior parts the same size - but no. The new construction is very flimsy compared to the old unit. In order to get the heater to work you have to replace the whole unit - which in our case means lifting a part of the roof to gain access to the cathedral ceiling space. Not easy. Once you get it in the heater lasted all of 6 months before burning out. I'm looking at replacing 3 more of these units in our house and shop also. They all broke at the same time. Never again - NuTone has really gone down hill. This product is a real disappointment - will never buy this brand again. December 24, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Where do you get parts? We have had the Model 665RP for a few years, recently the heater would not work so we were trying to find parts. When I went into the main page showing the Model 665 and clicked onto "where to get parts" the website tells me there isn't a model 665RP. I guess the answer is to go to a different company that will have replacement parts! March 28, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Heater worked great for 10 years!!! I was surprised to see this model is still available. I have had it running in our master bathroom for ten years, and the heater went up in early spring. For the money this is a real work horse and the bulbs are easy to change. The fan is a bit noisy, but really I can't hear it over the shower running, and once I get out of the shower I typically turn the heater off anyway. Also the light is not my primary source of lighting as we have an array of vanity lights over the master mirror. I'm not taking any chances, and going out today to buy this one again because I know it works and it will fit the current opening (yeah from a DIYer). June 30, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by loose connection I'm writing this review because I have read about the heater going out in other reviews. I had this happen, but it is not the heater element, it is a bad connection that will fail over time. the Overload wire connection is rivoted to the element bracket. The rivot will become hot and lose the ability to conduct properly, which raises the temperature right next to the element causing it to trip. Long story short, drill out the old rivot and replace with a small like a champ now. January 12, 2013
