Answer:
I got a 696N and saw that it didn't fit so instead of replacing the housing I took the motor out of it, reversed the bolts and mounted the new motor and blade into the old housing. To do this I had to drill out a little hole on the cross member where the motor bolts attach so the motor housing would clear but this was all easier than crawling in my attic and tearing out the old housing. Work's well.

Answer:
Due to the age of the fan, the entire unit, including the housing, will need to be replaced. The closest in size is the 696N.

Answer:
I'm not sure you can buy the damper aline. You .at want to try the manufacturers web site. You may just want to replace the unit, they tend to be cheaper than the parts you can buy.
Let us know if you need more assistance.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 48 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by fan Easy to install and inexpensive, but loud. Should have ordered up one level of quality. September 6, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good fit This was a replacement for the builder-installed fan. I just used the new motor. It was relatively easy to install.I would be willing to pay more for a motor that is more powerful and quieter. August 9, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Very basic exhaust fan Unfortunately, my bathroom only allows a small exhaust fan due to duct work and floor trusses. This one is the largest that would fit in the existing cut out. It is noisy and not as powerful as I would like, but it fits the opening and that's the most important thing. It I had my druthers, I would have like a larger, more powerful fan. But if you are limited in space, this one fits the bill. July 26, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good value The price on this item was great. We replaced an existing fan. It was quieter than the one we replaced and wasn't hard to install. Overall it's worth the price. May 3, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Didn't last long Installed this fan five years ago in a rental unit and it burned out. I only reinstalled it because it was easy to replace. It is really loud but also very inexpensive to replace. I would not install this fan in my house, but it's not bad for a rental. February 16, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Replacement exhaust fan This fan was a direct replacement of the existing fan. It only took about 15 minutes to change out. As described, it is a little loud but it certainly does the job for a very reasonable price. July 15, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Seems a fine product for the cost Fairly easy to install (I already had the duct-work). Works fine when it is installed. Not "silent", but not any annoying level of noise to me. January 30, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by installation problems/installer ignorance[private contractor] bigger pics/words so installer/or homeowner can 'properly install ceiling fan [ie. on ours- cheap but good fan installed , for $150.00, but contractor didnot tighten ring clamp or use adapter as on the box[small print] so after this winters heavy snow on roof blocked venting, fan pushed damp air into attic, ruining ceiling plaster, etc!!!!!!!!!. now we bought a bigger fan , no adapter needed-$80-from another company-we will install, not a stupid contracter, hopefully to cover the mess the other made, even though[ because of small bathroom] we really don't need a bigger, working one.we will do this when it gets cooler in the attic.
