I chose this product because of the "powerful boost mode" 430 CFM. It was one of the more expensive units, but I figured the 430 CFM would be great. Opened the unit up to start the installation, and was very disappointed at the internal build quality. Flimsy, not well sealed, finish where the lights go in is poor (see pic), and I ended up sealing the bad internal joins with duct tape to seal it better. Also added a few layers of duct tape to the internal surfaces to dampen sound levels / stop reverberation. Product has about $50 worth of parts in it - very over priced for what it is. Also, the internal info plate only rates it for 300CFM on max (see pic) setting, so you have to wonder if the "boost" mode is safe to use all the time or if that will prematurely burn the fan motor out. Every time I look at the range hood I'm disappointed to see the gap where the light cover fails to properly meet up with the rest of the hood. Would I do it again? No.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by OldRanger Good features but cheaply built
I purchased this unit because of the 4-speed fan and 3-level lights. Installation was fairly easy (replacing a range hood with same dimensions). My only gripe was that the edge of the panel that covers the light socket assembly doesn't match up exactly with the edge of the main body leaving a small but noticeable gap (see photo).

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by marie Efficient and nice-looking
We chose this range hood to replace an old model of similar shape, and the Allure III also offered very-much needed lighting over the work space. We had it installed, and I believe the installation was easy. We are very pleased with the result. The hood is extremely quiet except, of course, at the highest level which is rarely needed. The light in particular is perfect. and we will not need to add expensive additional spots to the kitchen: we solved 2 problems at once.

We had this same range hood in white and liked it so we ordered the stainless steel version to go with our new range and fridge. It has the same features as our old one except the number 3 fan speed doesn't work. We didn't discover this until it was installed and we will probably just keep it, but it was disappointing.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lessismore Might want to consider a pro install
Today I installed the NuTone Allure III and with some exceptions below, we love it. Cannot hear it on 1, a bit louder on 2, and so on. The boost is probably for when you burn something. I am still working on the outside venting. Had to go horizontal as I did not want to tackle a roof vent, and we had to sacrifice the top shelves in two cabinets. Small price to pay.
This unit hangs from 4 screws. If your cabinets have a recessed bottom, you have to add a shim on both sides. If your cabinets have partical board shelves, as most do, this can be a challenge. Location of the screws is CRITICAL. After you get them in, and the unit up on them, getting them tight is also a challenge as they are not easy to reach. Design fault here that NuTone should address. This ended up taking over 6 hours.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by jwjw Nice looking and high air flow
We normally make food with a lot of oily smoke and smells (such as high temp grill and fry), so when we shopped around we cared more about the air flow. After we got this, I have find the speed 3 is most efficient regarding the flow and sound. Boost mode is very noisy with very high air flow and we seldom to use that. I think speed 1 and 2 are too quiet for us but could be efficient enough for you. Surface is smooth and easy to clean after each cook. The light is very bright and focus right about the size of your cooking pan. The only thing I am not happy is the duct size of 7". I tried to find this size in the homedepot store and can not find it! The store has either 6" (which is most common) or 8"! In end I have to get the 8" one and wrap with heat duct tape to seal it!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by CALB Great Range Hood
I wanted a simple streamlined hood range and this one really fit the bill. Our "construction guy" installed it and it looks great! I have used it several times and since I now have a gas range, I had set the fan to low; but when I had a couple of the burners going it automatically up'd the fan 'volume' and when I turned off the burners the fan lowered the 'volume'. I am really pleased with this purchase.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by AZcooker Very pleased so far with this range hood.
We ordered our Allure III Range Hood from the local Home Depot store with the help of a wonderful customer service rep. She provided the necessary information and our unit was delivered on time at our home for installation.
Having had a previous "Nutone Range Hood", installation was very compatible. The unit is very quiet and has good illumination.
