Had a non-functioning remote controlled ceiling fan. Fan was about 15 years old and worked fine all those years. Tried remotes from identical fans but none would work. Used internet to research how fan remotes work and, from that info, decided I needed both a new receiver and remote. Best price was Home Depot (even beat Ebay!). Had it shipped to the store as shipping was free; arrived in several days. My daughter installed it in about 20 minutes with the help of a friend who held the actual ceiling fan. The most difficult part was finding the right electrical breaker to shut off the power! Color me happy --- and cool.

You may need an electrician to install. Once installed, very easy to operate. Good buy.

Instead of using dip switch as pictured in the photo, it now uses a "sync" mechanism every time the fan is powered on from the wall. So if you have a master wall switch that control the ceiling fan you will no longer be able to use it, or every time you turn it on you need to sync with the remote.

I bought two of these and they both worked perfectly: both with HD ceiling fans.

I had the electrician install 5 of these fans because of the large wrap-around porch area and increased ceiling height. I was quick and easy. Even on an open porch, you can feel the air movement and this will allow us to enjoy using the porch during the coming hot muggy summer heat. I think this model has the highest air flow that i could find on the Home Depot website. The remote was "paired" with this particular ceiling fan at check-out and it seemed a little pricey but is also working well with the fan. I have no complaints.

An inexpensive way to add wireless control and light dimmer to an existing fan. Installing the receiver module in the fan is physically a tight fit, you need to install it exactly as shown in the instructions and route the wires carefully out of the way.
The one feature which this lacks is remote reversing; you still have to use the switch on the fan itself to change directions, but normally this is something you would only do once in the spring and once in the fall.

No wall switch in the bedroom of a new apartment..not a problem any more. The install was simple but snug into a "Seasons" brand ceiling fan. The function has been flawless. The wall-mount remote holder is mounted near the door so that the remote acts as a wall switch. The only improvement I could suggest is a better fitted holder for the remote as it tends to wobble a bit in the holder. I would buy this remote kit again.
