Answer:
Thank you for your question. The CFH-Series ('hugger') is not Energy Star rated. If you do not require the unit to 'hug' the ceiling you may be interested in the CFS-Series as it IS Energy Star rated. Check out model CFS52RB. Thank you.

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 46 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by The fan does not have a finished look The reason I do not recommend this fan is it does not hug ceiling, a slim trim around the base would be perfect to conceal a gap between the ceiling and a base. My electrician had to bend brackets to try to eliminate the gap and it's still there. I thought they forgot to include trim in the package so I called the manufacturer. First representative did not have any knowledge whether this fan comes with a trim and was pretty rude. Second guy said they definitely do not come with a trim. I chose not to bother with returning the product, because of the dismantling and further installation cost ( I bought two). However I must say they are pretty quiet and move air fairly well. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Ordered 2- one quiet one noisy. I ordered online and received fans quickly. Installed first one and was vary happy with it. Quiet yet moved air better than the previous fan which was a 4 blade 42 inch Hampton Bay Littleton. Littleton was quieter- made almost no noise at all, this one has a slight hum to the motor. Then we installed the second fan. It made a lot more noise than the first. Motor hummed loudly (could be heard in the next room) and there were funny clicking noises. We checked our installation for errors to account for the noise and it was definitely the fan motor. Called the fan company and they told us to call Home Depot. Home depot said return the fan to any store and then they will process an order for a new one. Received the new one and it's almost as quiet as the first. Certainly better then the one we returned. If we installed the other fan first and heard that noise we never would have installed the second one. Therefore, if you get a fan that seems noisy- return it and get another. August 11, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ceiling fan My contractor installed it, but he didn't complain about it being difficult. It looks great, has 3 speeds and is extremely quiet. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great reviews It's easy to see why this fan has great reviews. It is very, very quiet and moves a lot of air. It easily handles our 400 sq ft living room and you don't even know it is on. You can by cheaper fans, but in this case you get what you pay for. August 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Oil Rubbed Bronze ceiling fan This is perfect for my short ceiling height. Installation went smoothly had it up and running in about half an hour. I would totally recommend this ceiling fan. I didn't need an extra light but guess you can order the light kit. It cools the room perfectly and is vey quiet. I originally wanted it in the white but it cost about $20. more so I got this one and I'm happy I did. May 31, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by It rings and smells The price was right. A close-to-the-ceiling fan that moves a good amount of air. Installation was pretty easy (I've installed many dozens of fans). Unfortunately, the outer shell that hides the motor and connections rings! It's like a bell or brass 'ringing-bowl'. The faster the fan, the more it rings. Probably some silicone on the inner surface would have stopped this. Obviously not tested in development. Also, for two weeks after installation, the paint on the motor gave off noxious fumes as the motor heated up. Eventually this subsided. Again, where was the development testing? September 6, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by excellent fan! chose this fan based off appearance and needed a hugger for the bedroom ceiling. fan is extremely quiet and just what we were looking for. the only downside we can complain about is the instructions. we installed other fans before so we had an idea on how to do, this just needed clearer instructions. otherwise, after figuring out what needed to go where and when, it is awesome! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect for the space Just purchased a townhome where the main living area is upstairs. The first hot day here I thought I was going to die. But when I went downstairs where the A/C controls are it was 68 degrees. WHAT?? Nope something had to change. I went online to Home Depot and found these fans (purchased 2 exactly alike) and had them installed. Made all the difference in the world. They are very quiet, and move the air around perfectly so it is cool up here now. April 7, 2015
