Product Overview

The LPN80 LoProfile fan is designed for installations where conventional ventilation simply won't fit. When a multi-family application requires it, the LoProfile fan is narrow enough to be installed in a wall between 2x4 studs. When plumbing or electrical obstructions are found behind the drywall in ceiling remodel applications, the LoProfile fan can still fit without having to move anything. And that means most any room with space constraints can have powerful, quiet, efficient ventilation.

  • Narrow enough to fit in 2 in. x 4 in. ceiling or wall construction
  • 80 CFM ensures ample air movement
  • 1.0 sones for extremely quiet operation
  • Mounting ears and hanger bar for fast and easy installation
  • ENERGY STAR qualified efficient operation for lower utility bills
  • Plug-in, permanently lubricated motor - engineered for continuous operation
  • Dynamically balanced centrifugal blower wheel for quiet, efficient performance
  • UL listed for use over bathtubs and showers when connected to a GFCI protected branch circuit (ceiling mount only)
  • Can be mounted in flat ceilings, sloped ceilings up to 12/12 pitch, and walls
  • Includes 4 in. oval to 3 in. round duct reducer

Answer:
Yes. It's not a 100% airtight seal, but it's good enough to keep bugs, and other things out. When you turn the fan off, you can hear a very quiet click, which is caused by the flap closing.

Answer:
Yes, there’s a damper right by the exit on the housing. But you would still want one on the outside of the house, too, preferably with a bird screen cover. If you have further questions, dial 888-336-6151 and someone can assist you.

Can the grille on this fan be rotated 90 degrees? I need to install in the wall, but it seems that for a wall mounting, the grille slats should run horizontally, not vertically.

Answer:
Not as far as I know, but Broan (owned by same company) makes the same fan with a differently designed grille. Its model number is same, but without the letter n.

I'm not sure, but Broan (which is owned by the same company) makes the same fan, but with a different grill design, which is more of a "x" shape.

Thank you for the question. The EZ80N is really designed for a ceiling installation. You can put it in a 12/12 pitch ceiling, but not a wall. If you require a wall fan, you may want to review the LPN80. It’s offered on Homedepot.com. Thanks, again.

Answer:
If mounting in a wall, the duct must be pointed up to operate correctly. If mounted in a ceiling, the duct should be parallel to your joist. Please contact Technical Support at 888-336-6151 for additional installation assistance.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good value for the price This fan is easy to install. It is loud but it seems to move a lot of air. April 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Fan Replaced the original fan of the same brand that was installed 9 years ago when we had the house built. This unit was a bit larger than the previous so I had to use a drywall knife from the attic side to make it larger but overall it was an easy installation, the hardest part was installing the fan cover at the end since one side didn't lineup correctly as per the instructions so you have to bend the end of the clip to get the installation correctly. It's quiet but anything is better than the helicopter I had going it my bathroom before. Good buy since I purchased it at 50% November 3, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works well with a low profile I replaced a 40 year old exhaust fan in my powder room with this fan. I needed a fan with a low profile as I only had 2x6 clearance. The install was easy. The old fan was worthless as it had to drive through about 18 feet of 3" plastic flexible pipe. The noise the old fan made because it was stalling was very loud. I first installed this fan and ran it without the exhaust connected to see how loud it would be. IMO it was quiet. Connecting the exhaust made it louder but not obnoxious. Even with 18 feet of exhaust pipe attached it moves a decent amount of air. November 3, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good fan Good little fan for use in small half bath; odor control only. Pretty quiet but I didn't want one too quiet anyways (it may also help mask any human-made noise!). Retrofit install but I had attic access so it was not too difficult. Mainly just had to make a bigger hole as the existing fan was much smaller. Did not like the oval exhaust. I had a 4 inch duct so you have to either make a round duct fit over an oval hole or use the provided oval to 3 inch reducer plus a 3 to 4 inch increaser (not provided). December 8, 2015
