I bought this piece of junk to ventilate my basement. For the first few days, it ran fine but then it started to shake badly. I turned the fan on its side and the impeller definitely had a heavy spot because gravity would always rotate the fan back to the same spot. Not wanting to spend the time to return the fan, I evened out the weight by removing one of the impeller blades. This cured the issue for a few more days, but now the fan is shaking violently once more, and when I look inside the impeller is completely out of round, and not even on the side opposite where I took the blade out, like one might think. I already ordered a replacement fan from a different store. I am so disappointed, you spend over a hundred dollars on a fan, you want it to work.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by maryjo very quiet and effiecnt
This fan works well for our large bathroom. We don't hardly steam up the room any more. It runs very quietly. In fact if the door is closed you wouldn't even know the fan is running until opening the bath door.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Casey Good fan, terrible mounting
Fan works great and is practically silent. I bought two and was able to attach one directly to a joist which was great. The second I had to buy the mounting kit to install between joists, which I bought the one suggested by homedepot.com, but the mounting holes don't match up even though all the information says it should. Fan 4.25" vs 7.5 on the mounting kit. What a waste of time. I wound up drilling the holes I needed and made it work.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beth Quality exhaust fan
Product was easy to assemble and install, product of quality. Everyone comments on the sleek design, most importantly, strength of fan is great to keep moisture down to a minimum and keep mold from forming. Bought this to replace an old bathroom fan of another brand, after bathroom was rehabbed and house was up for sale. Runs so quietly and efficiently. Wished I had known about this one years earlier.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by fanuser fans work well; seems fair price for the nice quality
I bought two of these fans, one for a bathroom with mold starting. We had the walls cleaned and painted and fan installed. In that bathroom it's very quiet--a big difference from the previous ineffective fan. In the smaller guest bathroom, where we had the second fan installed, it's louder, although not a problem. It's about the same loudness as the ineffective fan it replaced, but takes out shower moisture so much better. The sound might have something to do with the length of the duct work in the attic in that bathroom versus the quieter bathroom. Overall, we're happy with this purchase.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JustAGuy Fan is a quiet beast
I really wanted an upgrade in our bathroom, so found this. The original fan put in by our builder was one of those cheapy and loud ones. IF DONE RIGHT, no sheetrock repair was necessary...only cutting the right size hole in the sheetrock, then doing the install. But if you don't know what you are doing, you are going to cut the hole too big, or like a rhomboid, or a circle, or SOMETHING, then it's sheetrock repair time.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JB A worthwhile upgrade
I bought this 130 CFM direct from the store for a small bathroom, probably overkill, but there weren't any 110 CFM units in stock, only through the mail. The 130 has made a tremendous difference in the bathroom's moisture problem. The original 60 year old, 4-inch fan was just not capable of venting moisture quickly, leading to the usual problems in the long run. Even after a long shower, with the 130 the walls are dry, and pretty much all the moist air is gone within 10 minutes after a shower. The unit is very quiet, so you can leave it on as long as necessary without any irritating, high-pitched fan noise.
The installation instructions make it look fairly straightforward, but since I didn't have any experience with electrical hookup or cutting up ceilings, I tried to hire a handyman to install it. Bad idea. I had one no-show; one showed up, gave an estimate and a return date, then didn't show; and a third who started the job, said he needed to buy some 2x6 to mount it properly, said he'd be back the next day, then sent me an email late that night to say he didn't have the experience to finish the job!
The good news is, I then used the Home Depot installation service, and got an electrician who knocked out two or three of these jobs a week. He ran into a few obstacles with installation, but just kept going, and finished in about an hour. I wasn't aware of the installation service when I bought the unit, or I would have used that first.
