Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Justin VERY Quiet fan!
Anyone complaining that this fan is noisy, obviously installed it improperly. This exhaust fan has an impeller simulator to that of a window A/C unit. With low resistance, it can spin at a lower rpm as designed. If the exhaust pipe is restrictive, the fan will speed up and make more noise. Some reviews talk about using an adapter to go from their previous 3" pipe to that of 4" with this unit. That WILL cause extra noise and it is not the fault of the unit.
The light on this unit is brighter than my bathroom lights. The bulbs were supplied and are high efficiency.
This unit moves some air, that's for sure. I installed this in my small single bathroom, it's probably 8X10 in size. Complete over kill CFM wise, and glad I did it that way. Previously the bathroom would be hot like a swamp after a shower, now with this unit I can feel a breeze under the door and no fogged up mirrors. Granted this bathroom did not have a fan before.
Noise? This fan is the quietest I have heard, especially considering the amount of air it moves. You get what you pay for!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Luca Replaced standard cheap bathroom fans
I had your standard cheap bathroom fans that came with our 1981 house. They were neither quiet or removed any air from the bathroom. I wanted to install a new fan that would prevent the mirror from steaming up and was quiet. This fan does a much better job than our old fan (rated at 50cfm) so I like that. While quieter than the old unit, it still is louder than I would have liked. I thought it would have been also silent. The old unit had a three inch exhaust tube. This unit has a 4 inch exhaust so I bought the 4" to 3" adapter. This made the unit pretty loud in my opinion. I went back to HD and bought a 4" exhaust rube and it was quieter. I would definitely replace the exhaust hose to a 4"line if your current set up is a 3" one.
I do appreciate that they supplied the necessary light bulbs (though at 136 bucks, I would kind of expect it). If your set up is like mine with the old cheap fan, you will need to cut your ceiling hole bigger to get this to fit. After that though, pretty easy to install- about a hour. I like the extra lights and the better air movement, but which it was quieter.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by FlubaDub66 Great combo fan & light
I bought this unit as a replacement for a 10 year old unit that had failed. I installed the unit myself, overall it was pretty easy to install once I enlarged the drywall opening. I had to modify the support structure in the attick by adding a 2x4 support. The old unit was supported incorrectly and thus the added support was needed. I consider myself handy so these modifications were easy for me. The fan is quiet, considerably quieter than the unit it replaces. I did not install the night light feature. A great replacement fan and light.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Maz22 Works great!!!!
I installed this fan/light in our master bath after the old Nutone gave up the ghost. The wife is thrilled, the fan is quieter than the old one by at least half and the main light is fantastic! The cherry on the sunday though is the built in nightlight. I was skeptical that it would be functional, but it is awesome! The light is very soft and the perfect light to keep on at night all night long. Not distracting at all. I would recommend this fan/light to anyone looking for a quality new or replacement installation,

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ChocolateMerry This fan is powerful and quiet!
This fan was a good investment. The sound level is extremely low, but the fan is powerful enough to keep the bathroom steam free while the shower is on. It also has a night light feature so you don't blind yourself in the middle of the night with the regular light.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by SHB46 Great product, as expected from NuTone.
The main light output is very good. The night light is a nice feature, with the grand kids, although it requires an extra wire and switch. The fan is powerful and very quiet. The unit was some what difficult to install, as it was very different from the previous one, but that is not the fault of this new unit.
I have used NuTone products since the early 1960's and have never been disappointed. Keep up the good products.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by GWest Looks great, but the fan died
I bought this fan last year when I was doing renovations to my bathroom. It seemed like a great purchase at first, but after a few months I noticed the fan was becoming less and less audible. And now it's all but dead. The light works just fine, but the fan is a different story. I'm a little disappointed, as I would think the fan would last at LEAST 5 years or so. I bought another NuTone fan (different model) for my guest bathroom, and that one is operating perfectly without any issues. But the fan unit in this model is just about dead. Now I'm debating whether to buy a replacement and risk this same issue, or go with another model.
