Answer:
YES. I have mine set so if you flick the fan control switch once. it will turn on automatically when it senses the humidity level change and off per a time you set after it stops sensing humidity. If you flick the switch on, off and on again it will stay on until you switch it off manually. so basically, one filck on is auto mode and two flicks on is manual.

Thank you for your question about the NuTone model QTXEN110SFLT Humidity Sensing Fan. It's a good question! Yes, you can over-ride the sensing fan to turn it off and on with a wall switch. We would recommend the 66W, a three-function control. If you would like to review the instructions for manually over-riding the sensor, those instructions are part of the Installation Instructions. Hi, Amybeth.
Thanks for your second question!! Well, this unit is related to the other one (the same series). Thank you for considering our product for your project. It's a great question since LED's are so popular these days. This unit has been U.L. tested with a fluorescent bulb that has a GU24 base. While you can get LED's with a GU24 base, it has not been tested and approved. We would recommend sticking with the bulb style designed and approved. Does not come with suspension brackets that would be needed if not mounting to joist. There is a Nutone product carried by Home Depot in their bath fan area that fits.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far, so good! This is a great exhaust fan and light. The key feature is that the fan automatically turns on when it senses moisture and turns off when it is gone, so you don't even have to think about it. It is also VERY quiet while being VERY effective. We set it up with 3 switches: 1. Main light 2. Night light 3. Fan We leave 3 in the ON position at all times so that it runs automatically. If you need to turn on the fan manually (say, for odor elimination... if you know what I mean) you simply toggle switch 3 off and on quickly and it turns on for a preset (adjustable on the device) amount of time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So quiet you can't hear it come on when you're in the shower Love the fact that it will come on as needed and turn off when set to, in case the kids forget to flick the switch. Note: Directions do not tell you how to wire the fan to an existing "fan and light switch", instead they inform you on how to wire a triple switch for the fan, light, and night light, which you must buy separately. This triple switch is also not indicated when you purchase the fan on line.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Humidity Sensing Ventilation Fan Review 2011 Ultrasilent operation is great, and the Humidity Sensing is an added plus, you need not operate a fan switch, just let the sensor turn the ventilation fan when need, then operate automatically to turn the fan off.....great "hands-free" feature. Also includes a room flourescent lamp and night lite, each with seperate switches. Great replacement for your "noisy" bathroom fans, very functional and quite operation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a great exhaust fan! While doing a recent bathroom remodel I had chosen another model fan. My electrician told me I wouldn't be happy with it and suggested I buy another. The Nutone was a bit more expensive, but well worth it! It is super quiet and will automatically turn on when there is moisture in the air..a perfect function since we installed a steam shower! I highly recommend this fan!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Product features are good; execution is not so good. Product arrived damaged, but damage was not detectable until box was opened by the contractor working on my home's bathroom. At that point it was too late to order another as a replacement. Fortunately, the damage (a badly mangled flange) was able to be repaired by the contractor's workers. This fan requires a 6" roof vent for proper venting of its powerful fan. That vent is not available through Home Depot. Overall, I was displeased by these unexpected surprises.
