This product directly replaced my old worn-out bathroom fan. It installed in 5 minutes after pulling out the old fan and motor assembly. This product includes the fan, motor, and assembly. Quick fix!

Ugh. The fan quit working. Dang it. We've all had that feeling before. Take the cover off and wow. A few years worth of fuzz build up. I then took it down and cleaned it out, put it back in to see if that helped. Nope. Tested the outlet and the was working fine.
I then start the process of looking for a replacement after sizing up the box and current hole. I then realized all the work that would go in to replacing with a whole new unit. Didn't want to do that and then I saw that someone had just replaced the motor. Hmmm.
Found the motor at the store that looked like it had the right cut outs etc and was the right size for the one that I needed to replace. Kinda bummed though because it was the same price as the new cheap unit. Oh well. Turns out, this was the exact same unit that I had. I totally winged it but for $15 it was worth the try. Probably spent more time trying to get the cover back on than anything else.
Extremely happy that it went that fast. Wish all of my other 'repair' jobs were that easy.

My house was built in '83. The fan in the bathroom is an oddball brand, that I couldn't find replacement parts for. After doing a little research, I noticed that the motors themselves all looked about the same, and had the same mounting locations to the metal frame. The metal frame that came with this fan did not fit my housing, but the motor and fan looked nearly identical. Both even had the same CFM and Sone rating. I swapped motors and kept my original housing. You just lift the fan blade off of the motor shaft, and unscrew the two nuts that hold the motor to the frame. Installation was the opposite. It was a direct replacement and works great. Something to think about if you find yourself in the same situation with one and don't want to have to go through the trouble of modifying your whole fan setup to fit a different model in there.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ripk9 A great $14 fan for 8' x 5' bathrooms
This product's description is spot on: $14.00, for bathrooms up to 45 sf with average ceiling height and is 4 on the noise scale. It was super easy to install. Took me only 5 minutes to change it out. It actually took me longer to get the cover off the 30 yr old one. I also like that the fan is NOT quiet. It's not obnoxiously loud, but I think it offers the right amount of sound buffering for my guests with some "cover up" noise available. Seriously.....no one want to hear all that (...or be heard!)

Good product and easy to install. Do not upsize to 70cfm. Most have 3" discharge which will make the 70 too noisy.
