The fan requires two power inputs. Answer:
Any light switch can be used. I used a dual rocker. One rocker for the always on power, and the second for the light. I put a child tamper cover over the always on one. Local code will probably require that there be a switch visible for the main power to the fan

Answer:
You can use a flex hose (use the aluminum ones: they're more durable), and 6-to-4 reducers for bath exhaust fans are fairly common. For a kitchen range hood, I wouldn't go smaller than 6 inches.

Answer:
Thanks for your interest in our product for your project. You can use a reducer to go from 6" to 4" since the unit is not over 110 CFM. You can also use flexible duct, but your run should not exceed 12 feet. If you have any 90 degree turns in the duct run, this will reduce the performance. So please call our Technical support Department at 888-336-6151 if you have further questions. Thanks, again.

The 77DW will not work for this model. You will need switch model 66W, 66V, 67W, or 67V. For additional assistance, please contact our Customer Service Department at 888-336-3948.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Expensive, and maybe worth it I'm sure this is an excellent fan, but its operation instructions are a bit hard to decipher. I'm not sure the world needs a bath exhaust fan that has adjustable settings for fan strength, how long the fan runs, and at what humidity it activates. With so many variables, it's a little difficult to determine if the settings are right. Installation was straight-forward and simple, with no surprises. It's a pricey item for a bath exhaust fan, but it is very quiet, even at full speed. January 8, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good quality bathroom fan The product is good quality. Fan runs very quiet. Instructions for installation were a little vague. If this is existing construction cutting the hole for installation was a little tricky. Wiring instructions were not very clear. Don't do yourself if you dont have some electrical background. June 29, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not Worth The $$$ This fan was painful. There were no switches included nor did the installation instructions include information on which kind to purchase in order for the fan to operate properly. I had to call Nutone customer service twice in order to find out what part/parts to buy. Also, it has a delay start. Most fans start immediately, not this one. It starts a few seconds after turning it on. Don't know whether or not the contractor installed it correctly, and don't know if the humidity sensor works, but at this point, I'm just going to put up with it. The only plus is that it looks good Had I known it was going to be such a colossal pain-in-the-neck, I would have returned it.. I have however, learned a valuable lesson....keep it simple! They say you get what you pay for; NOT ALWAYS!! May 12, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by More than I needed Returned to HD Ok, I ordered this for a new bathroom going into the laundry room. This is the cadillac of fans! When my electrician saw it he was surprised at all the bells and whisltes on it. Thank goodness Home Depot has an excellent return policy. When I found out I needed 3 wal switches for this fan I promply returned it and ordered a 2 speed Air King w/humidistat also from Home Depot. February 20, 2015
