Because of weight and location could not use provided screw/nail holes provided, installed wood supports in attic instead.
One jack pushed plug into connection box because one side of plug would not hold. Used screw and washer to keep plug anchored so that connection could be made. Did not want to disassemble and remake connections with wire nuts.
After installation looks good and functions well and quiet.
If novice DIYer might be challenge.
Bought another for my other bath.

Instructions are in dire need of updating and are not specific to item. This install was in a two story, bottom level. Installation without attic space isnt possible without cutting into drywall to attach to joist. (This install was in a two story, bottom level). My old fan was duct-ted on the opposite side, making installation a bit trickier. Installation was NOT a breeze, but I got it done and it seems to work well in the laundry room.

This fan has a larger box than the standard fan we've had for the last 20 years.it was such a such a great deal that we decided to keep it and use it when we remodel the bathroom.
Just be sure to check the size of the hole in the ceiling with what you already have!

I just got this unit and have run some power consumption tests. The fan with no vent pipe connected requires 55.1 watts. With a 4”-6’ flex dryer vent 53.8 watts is required. When I forced the back flap closed allowing no air flow the takes 46 watts. I tested with a 50’-16 gauge extension cord and a Kill-A-Watt meter. Results show the more power used means more air is flowing and I was able to notice a ~15% air flow drop with the 6’ hose attached which corresponds to the power drop. The entire unit is rated for 1.10 Amps as labeled on the housing. The fan can be heard but really is not that bad and does move a good mount of air. The motor fan unit is easily removed for through cleaning by two Philips head screws which many other units do not allow. I am impressed with quality of the glass and sheet metal work. Since everything inside the box is removable this makes installation much easier as well with only the light weight sheet metal box! My two units were assembled when I ordered them according to the date sticker and it took 14 days to receive. 4 stars for not being 1 sone, I have not installed this fan yet but if anything does come up I write another review.

The fan and light work quite well to clear moisture from the shower. I would recommend this combo.

Ordered two of these product and installed the blower portions only and wired it both blowers both are working , and they are not too loud. The decorative portion is not installed yet. I cannot give a full quality and value rating at this time until the new ceilings area finished.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Knad A great deal on a superior product
The description of the product was confusing. Saying that it fit into an existing fan forced me to call to find out what exactly the package contained as I needed the light and fan assembly for the attic. As it turned out, the fan assembly and the light were all there. The pieces were well packaged and the directions were simple and as easy as indicated. Installation took about an hour (I'm a DIY person, NOT a pro) and looks great. The hot shower test proved how well the fan worked—there was virtually no condensation on my mirror that usually requires a blow-dryer to clear. The cost of this being about half the price of a comparable big-name brand with the same results and sturdy construction makes this light/fan combo a super deal.
