Description of color

It is hard to envision the color. Is it a metallic looking white?
Asked by: PxJ
color is a pure white. Really brightens up a room once all done

Can I paint straight on top of my cabinets?

I have brown cabinets which are like about 4 years old. Do I still have to sand them before I apply the white paint and also - do I need a primer? If yes, please recommend one and which sandpaper will be best to use? Thank you in advance
Asked by: bvd117
I would sand with at least 220 grit. Also use primer 2-3 coats. Sounds like a lot but end result will be worth it!

Since it dries so fast I would suggest a small roller and brush

2 qt. Titanium Infusion (White) Cabinet Paint Kit is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 33.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Transformer This is a great product that allows you to completely change and bring new life to an old cabinet. I used this product to liven up an old bathroom cabinet. The process is as easy as sanding your cabinet with fine grit sandpaper to take the stain off then everything else you need is in the kit. You just brush your paint on with the provided brushes and rollers and you are set. The wood I had painted over was darker in color so it took three coats for me to cover it, but the results are astounding. I used the paint kit and put a new top on my vanity and completely modernized my bathroom. The only con I had was the roller provided did not roll very well.

Overall, I'm pleased with the final look, but, it didn't happen as easy as they proclaim. I wanted a professional finished look, so I took doors, drawers and hardware off. It took alot of sanding and even at that I used 3 coats of paint. Which takes more than the 2qts in the kit. Had to order from Amazon. Don't plan on this being a weekend project, I've been working on this going on three weeks. Rolling the paint on doesn't work as good as using the brush. Hope this helps.

In reality I only needed on kit, but I used primer. This is not a one day project if you want to make it look professional. I took all my doors off and drawers out. Wiped them down thoroughly with TSP/water mix. Let them dry, sanded every single one. using 220 on orbital sander then used tack cloth. On the cabinets I scrubbed and used sanding blocks. Day 2 started with the primer. I primered the inside portion of the doors and hanging cabinets 2x. All Doors and drawers 3 x, sanding and looking for imperfections then again primer. Primering was at least 2-3 days because I let it fully dry. ( Also have to be at the office) After all that I finally was able to use the product. Couple things to note, the brush included just throw in the trash. I used a 2" quality brush about $17, well worth it. Did not use the roller except on huge cabinet section. There are no brush marks. I did 2 coats of cabinet paint on shell and inside of doors. 3 coats on outside. Letting completely dry between. I just had new counter tops and sink/faucet installed yesterday. I couldn't be happier! Counter-top installer and plumber both way impressed thinking I hired a professional. I still need to add top coat (for durability- have grandkids) and I bought new drawer pulls and knobs that have to be installed. Getting there.. but love it! BTW the bids I received to paint cabinets averaged $3300. I did the painting for under 350, of course counter-top and faucet not included. =) Why 4 stars? Brush in kit was craptastic and if I wouldn't have used primer I would have needed a lot more cabinet paint.

Tested out on one cabinet first without primer and had to do 4 coats to get it to our liking (see photo below that we had darker oak cabinet color). Suggest putting on primer first and then 2 coats. Does have a flat finish so if you want a "shinny" finish you may want to put on a top clear poly coat. Other than that product did exactly what we wanted it to do

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy and cheap way to re-do a kitchen The roller created air bubbles so I painted it all with the brush supplied. It looks great, it was just very time consuming. It is a really inexpensive way to redo your whole kitchen (under $100 for the kit, any extra's you need like tape, sanding paper, and I got a third can of paint off Amazon in case I needed it, which I did not). You also do not have to remove to remove the cabinet doors which I loved. Kitchen was oak colored before.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Where's the Sheen? I gave this a shot given all the mainly positive reviews. Am in the process of redoing a 48" oak vanity that was tired and just blah. Prep is always the key and I spent a day removing all hardware, sanding, etc. Well, I'm two coats in, and I'm like, where's the sheen??? It went on smooth enough, but I'm not sure I'd call it any thing more than eggshell. As it dried it just got flatter and flatter. Very disappointed for over thirty bucks a quart. One more coat, and that's it. NO WAY this is semi gloss paint. Clearly would have been better off just purchasing a major brand top of the line semi gloss at half the cost. Probably will end up doing that. Waste of money.
