Product Overview

The Nuvo H2O Home Salt-free Water Softener System is an innovative and environmentally friendly water protection that uses citrus to provide a salt-free softening solution for hard water. Nuvo H2O uses the process of Chelation to bind to the minerals in your water, making them soluble so they wash away freely from your body, hair, dishes, fixtures, appliances and plumbing. Nuvo H2O's FDA approved, food-grade ingredients are safe and healthy for your plants, lawn, pets and you. Recommended for homes under 2,000 sq. ft.

  • Easy installation - no drain, no bypass, no water softener loop, and no brine tank required; built in bypass, pressure release, and shut off
  • Effective - removes existing scale, inhibits new scale from forming, reduces water spotting
  • Compact design - fits almost anywhere with its wall mount design and small compact size
  • Eco-friendly - no salt, no wasted water, no electricity used; protects and extends the life of appliances and fixtures; uses less soap and detergents
  • Easy maintenance (no 40 lbs. bags to haul) - replace our citrus formula cartridge only twice a year

Alkali and calcium

I have been told that the water in my area is very high in alkali and calcium, causing pipe restrictions. My evaporative cooler pads also get crusted over. Is this water softener system my answer? I also heard salt-free is the only answer with galvanized pipes, and too much hassle with salt anyway. Any info?

It does not work, period.

Does this work on well water

Asked by: Bill
It does work on well water and is safe for septic systems. However, some wells have issues in addition to hardness...like tastes, odors, iron. You might want to run a carbon filter before this system. They also have a system on here that filters and softens.

Moved to Utah from the midwest where we didn't have hard water. Didn't like the feel from salt systems, so went with an alternative. I don't understand what some people are stating about grains of hardness not changing. **It states online it doesn't remove the minerals** If it doesn't remove minerals, it obviously will still be hard water. 4 months, and no scale buildup on any of my fixtures. Will keep everyone updated

Wrote a review at the end of September stating what a great system, but after a month, our water was not clear and had a smell to it. I called and talked to a representative at Nuvo and stated maybe we would have to get another filter before this system and they would send us a replacement cartridge for the Nuvo. They did that and we did get another filter system, but that didn't help; more spots on the dishes, so we bypassed the Nuvo system and we are just using the other filter and now no more smell and the dishes look cleaner. So we are sending this system back for a full refund.

This is a very early evaluation. I live in the desert. Water conservation and elimination of waste brine (from a salt based system) were two important considerations for choosing the system. The water here is extremely hard. Some estimates are 40 grains per gallon or higher. The fixtures and pipes had heavy scale buildup when the house was purchased. In the 14 days of use, there is noticeable reduction in deposits and spotting in the stainless steel kitchen sink. The new and expensive dishwasher produces sparkling clean dishes, when the manufacturer’s instructions for effective drying are followed. Showers do not have the “slippery” feel of ion exchange (salt based) softened water. This early period has been excellent for the water treatment system. I hope that remains true for the longer term.

I had one installed in my new Florida retirement home. After a year of working with Nuvo, they refunded the material cost, and of course I had to pay for a new water softener installation. Not to mention the collateral damage a calcium buildup caused. The Nuvo Manor simply does not remove the calcium from the water.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super effecient, and very simple operation. The water feels great The Nuvo system was pretty easy to install, and was accomplished with the help of a handy friend. Have replaced the cartridges a few times now and it is pretty easy (use a big bucket under your workspace though) We have pretty hard water, so the difference was quite amazing. There is no scale on any of the water fixtures, and I have been getting spot free dishes for some time now. The cartridge last about 7 months in our household with 4 in the family. We have replaced the water heater twice, and the dishwasher once in 20 years living in the house, and hoping we won't have to do it again anytime soon.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not work at all I am a professional plumber and installed this thinking it would work well. I had my water tested and came out to 11+ hardness. So there was no change. Don't waste your money. Put in new filter also and no change

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product, no more salt bags to lift Recently purchased a home where a water softener was installed in the basement. This was a rental unit. We purchased this unit before we moved and we are thrilled; no more carrying salt bags up and down stairs. It was easy to install. I have noticed that there is a film left after we wash cars, don't know if this is due to this system or the old system and the water flow through the pipes will correct itself?
