The kit comes with a templet for measuring the hole to cut either a 10 " or an 14 hole"
THE TEMPLET IS NOT CORRECT ! IT IS TO LARGE !
I was about to cut the hole in my roof and then noticed something was not right. This could have been a major problem if I had not caught their mistake .
I made my own templet
The rest of the kit seems Ok . Except for the tubes are flimsy also the top tub should rest all around the aluminum flashing but my tube is to small or the flashing was to large . I had to make more adjustments. This could be a nice kit but I think its on the cheap side.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by ElRoyO Installation instuctions not complete
My son and I installed the 10 inch ODL Tubular Skylight with Aluminum flashing in about 3 hours. This is not a one man job, especially if the attic area is not very high. Had to call customer service twice, once because the Aluminum flashing was not angled for the roof pitch, and then again because no holes were in the flashing for anchoring to the roof and also to the globe. Customer service was immediate and helpful, though.
The installation instuctions were written for the angled, composite flashing. Otherwise, the product worked as expected. I suggest, though, that the installation instuctions be read thoroughly. There are several parts concerning tube insertion, geographic bearing, and plumbing that's critical to successful installation.

Our guest bathroom was a dark affair, but no more. This skylight illuminates it in a wonderful way, and it's very attractive. I did not bother trying to install myself (cutting holes in roofs is not my idea of a good time) but rather paid a pro about the equivalent of the cost of the tube to do it right. I'm glad I did. It took he and a helper only two hours to do the whole job. Highly recommended product! One note: I guarantee for the first few days you will find yourself saying, 'Hey, who left the light on in there!?"

I bought three of these, two 10s and a 14. I installed the first one in a small kitchen space and was not too impressed. The tube is not too long and straight, but the kitchen light still needs to be on in the daytime. If you expect this to REPLACE electric lights, go see an installed one first. It is dimmer than I ever expected. I sent back the two un-installed ones. Also, the template for cutting the holes is TOO BIG. Check it first. Twice.

I installed one of these four years ago for my kitchen and have had no problems. I just installed my second unit and am planning on ordering a third. I probably should have ordered two 14 inch units instead of three 10 inch units for my kithcen area. I installed these myself with my available home tools. The 48 inch units were sufficient for my application.

Glad to see there is an aluminum option now, instead of just the asphalt flashing. Compared to other tubular skylights, this one is cost-effective.
I've had the 10-inch asphalt version on my roof for about 4 years, and there hasn't been a problem. The aluminum should last longer in the hot sun.

I liked the solid construction and the low profile of the aluminum flashing on my 4 : 1 south sloping roof.
Getting the correct alignment can be tricky and I would recommend using 2 inches of overlap at the tube joints.

I put one of these in the master bath during a remodel. Looks and works just GREAT! Put another in the second bath during that remodel. Like these so much, I'm putting a 14" in the kitchen next. A+++
