I went to Home Depot to get a window blind to put on my mom's back door, so she could tilt it to see out without having to pull it up like with the existing shade...While at the store I checked on the price of a door with the blind built in between the glass panes, ouch $360+...I told the salesman what I was wanting to do, he showed me this and I was sold, it was so easy to install and it looks just like the expensive "Built-In Blind" door...No drilling involved (the holes you see above in the picture are from the brackets that held the old shade), it has two brackets that slide behind the existing window frame of the door at the top and then all you have to do is lift the panel up and onto the brackets, adjust over the existing frame and then lock in the clips that are near the bottom of the panel on each side, it is solid when it is locked in...It took me more time to take the old shade down then it did to install this Add-On...

I'm so grateful for all the reviewers that convinced me to try these. I was afraid they'd look cheesy, but they look great. I painted them to match my doors - very much like painting "woodgrain" fiberglass doors. These make a wonderful difference for my home office, which gets late afternoon sun - the room is much cooler now. It's so rare to find a product that really solves a problem, looks great and has a price that makes it a practical solution for most anyone.
thanks to all the reviewers for sharing your experience!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by EastTexCooter Great Product
These enclosed blinds were the perfect solution to our back door issues. Always hated the old blinds swinging and knocking every time the door was opened or closed. This product is absolutely silent and the blinds are easy to operate. The real issue was our new puppy wreaking havoc on the old exposed blinds when she wanted to see out the door. These enclosed blinds solved that problem. Also provides a secondary barrier to a burglar breaking the door glass to reach in and unlock the door. Relatively easy to install, although the holes from hangers of the old blinds were exposed. A small cosmetic problem compared to the solutions this product provided. Highly recommend. Just follow the instructions explicitly -- I forgot to remove the shipping restraint and had to take them down and repeat installation to allow the blinds to function - oops.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by HappyBlindster Great solution for privacy
This worked better than we imagined, totally exceeding our expectations. We were looking for a way to have nighttime privacy at our front door, but not lose the daytime view and the nice appearance of the etched glass on the door. The closed blind provides completer privacy; the slats of the open blind are so thin that you can still see out the door--no need to raise the blind. Installation was a snap with great design and easy to follow instructions. We are very happy with this product.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nik Good looking, easy to install
Installation was a breeze. It took me about 30 minutes to finish by myself. I got lucked out and I didn't have to drill a hole on my door since my door has screws on the trims. Only thing I would add to improve this great product is to add a locking mechanism on the bottom like the ones on the sides to give it a real tight fit.
I might also add, the button used to raise and lower the blinds feels a little flimsy, only time will tell if it will hold. Other than that I am happy with the product and I would recommend it.
THANK YOU for those who reviewed the product. I always read reviews before I buy a product and this one came out pretty good like always.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by David That's Cute, But It's WRONG!!!
Measured my window. 24 inches wide on the nose. These blinds DO NOT fit a 24" wide window. It's 2 inches too wide. Apparently, you have to buy the 20" wide blinds to fit a 24" window. The store doesn't stock these, of course. The manufacturer and Home Depot should revise their labeling. No wonder every one of these is on the shelf opened!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cece1 Easy and Nice!
It was time to replace the old shades on our two sunroom doors. I was looking for something to let the light in but also keep the dogs from pushing aside to look out. These are perfect! I ordered them from Home Depot and picked them up at the store. My husband and I are in our mid sixties and we installed them very easily. The first one took a little longer since we had to figure out how to remove the shade. The second one took 10 minutes! The deadbolt lock was too close to the casing on the second door so I just snapped out the plastic casing as instructed. They thought of everything! The dogs are happy! I'm happy! Easy peasy!
