Product Overview

ODL's Brisa Retractable Screen Door, for standard 6 ft. 8 in. in-swing or out-swing Entry Doors, takes a fresh approach to maximizing fresh air and your view while offering a smooth and steady screen operation, ergonomic and intuitive function, smart and neutral design and a simple and quick 30 minute installation - all with the benefit of a limited lifetime warranty. Brisa Retractable Screen Door offers homeowners a fresh approach to traditional screen doors. Like hinged screen doors, Brisa allows fresh air to circulate into the home. But Brisa does that without all the banging and slamming and in-the-way hassles of a traditional hinged screen door. Brisa's full view screen also fully retracts when not in use so it doesn't get in the way. It's there when you need it and out of sight when you don't.

  • Brisa retractable screen door in bronze for standards 6 ft. 8 in. in-swing or out-swing entry doors
  • Innovative EZ glide system provides a smooth and steady experience - each and every time the screen is opened or retracted
  • Secure locking latch and ergonomic handle offers a simple 1-hand operation and provides confidence that the screen will stay closed
  • 30-Minute installation - smartly designed with ease of installation in mind, no metal cutting is required and only one power driver tool is needed to install 5 components in only 30-minutes
  • Simple-to-install quick-snap track (patent pending) can be snapped into the screen housing and adjusted to proper length without cutting - providing a universal fit for 95% of the most common door widths/styles
  • Outer face-mount installation creates a full opening for fresh air circulation, unobstructed view and full pass-through space without the intrusive housing or track associated with in-jamb installed retractable screen doors
  • A symmetrical design and neutral material selections coordinate with the brick or wood molding of your home's architecture
  • Subtle stripes woven into the screen provide visual cues to help prevent screen walk-through - especially on days when bright sunlight can seem to make the screen “disappear”
  • Durable painted surfaces and rust- free aluminum housing and track require no maintenance
  • Limited lifetime warranty - all parts are covered under a limited lifetime warranty except for the screen mesh
  • Design adjust quickly for the most popular (95%) doors 32 in. - 36 in., if less than 32 in. two simple cuts are required

Answer:
Not pet friendly in that regard. The door has upper and lower tracks, so your pet cannot push its way through the bottom without damaging the door.

Answer:
Yes. In my opinion it makes the door totally unusable. If I walk away with the glass doors open and patio doors secured, one of my cats will take advantage of that opportunity to escape by pushing out the screen at the bottom. Definitely a design flaw as far as cat owners are concerned.

Answer:
Yes, the screen isn't secured in the bottom track, so anything that pushes from either the inside or the outside can go in or out.

It has a flip lock that you can operate from the inside only. It is not a keyed lock, though.

It lists product depth as 3". My wood trim around the outside of the door (I have an in-swing) is 2.5" Will I be able to install the product without modifying my trim? Note, I don't mind it sticking out .5".

Answer:
The housing for the roller shade is the part that 3" deep. It fits on the outside of the frame. As long as the door knob or anything else (i.e., Christmas wreath, etc.) does not stick out beyond the door frame, you're okay.

Since no one answered my question... I went ahead and got it anyway. It turns out my question was not applicable. I did not understand that THIS WHOLE UNIT FITS ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE DOOR FRAME, not on the inside. Just a small 1" wide piece fits inside the frame with four screws. The screen itself is even with the exterior trim. Because of this it did not fit on my back door as the stair railing was in the way. No worries, I put it on the front door. The install was so easy that I kept looking at the directions thinking it has to be harder then this because they tell you it is a 30 min install. If I had to do a second one, 20 mins tops. Although bugs could sneak through at the very top (I would suggest if you live where there are lots of bugs you not use this with the interior lights on at night). But I dont so....Bottom line is I love this door! Read Less

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good looking and easy to install Took exactly a half an hour to install, until I realized I had the hinge on the wrong side of the door. Ugh. So then it took me 15 minutes to reinstall. Pay attention to this and you should be good to go. It helps,to have a second person to hold the door in while you drill into the doorframe. Love the bronze color! July 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Gap Love the screen, the only issues we came across was the gap on the top of the door. Also the screen was supposed to have a wavy pattern and it only has 2 stripes on it making it easy to walk through thus breaking it. Maybe that's the plan so u buy more screen?? August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works Great! We got this sliding screen door because my mother uses a walker and or a wheelchair and it was always so hard to maneuver around traditional swing screens, this has made life much easier! We don't have a lot of foot traffic, so we don't close it unless we plan to keep the regular door open to let the breeze into the house, I don't know if it would take a lot of opening and closings over the years, but works fine for us! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product! The door was very easy to assemble and install. It works exactly as described. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that our local Home Depot carries only the white in stock. Therefore, I had to order it. The online system would not let me order it (I live in Hawaii). I had to go to the local HD who ordered it online for me but I still had to pay the freight charges as if I was ordering it online (even though I picked it up from the store). One other note, on a somewhat breezy day, the screen can push in at the middle thereby creating a gap between the screen and the frame but since it has to be windy, the insects were not able to fly and enter the house. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Retractable screen door The size stated was 80 inches. The actual size was 81 1/2 inches and was to large to fit in the opening. Therefore needed a contractor to completely reframe the space to fit the screen door. Much added expense. 80 inches should measure 80 inches, not 81 1/2. Was told that phantom screen door on display needed to be ordered online and was not available in store. On a later visit to the store, was told by a different employee that he could order it for me, I could pay for it and it would be installed by phantom. Total misinformation from the first employee. Annoying. August 2, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by works as expected It is so nice to have a screen at last for the front of the house. Only been here 20 years w/o?! It is dang ugly and did not adjust enough to fit height of the door. Had to patch in a piece of wood. It is truly disappointing that the front door is not as pretty as it was but the air circulation makes it worth it. August 15, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't buy We bought two of these doors. The first one lasted 3 days before the spring broke and the door wouldn't retract. We returned it, got a new one and that one lasted 3 weeks. My husband and I were sitting on our deck and we heard a noise like me something dropped. When we went to go into the house the screen wouldn't retract. The spring had broken again. August 9, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Just as Advertised This screen was very easy to assemble, even though I did have to cut the track down a bit for a narrow door. I do wish there was something that held the top and bottom into the track - if not a lip at least magnets or something. It was a bit pricey but I think it should do the trick for a long while.
