Product Overview

ODL's Brisa Retractable Screen Door, for standard 6 ft. 8 in. inswing or outswing entry doors, takes a fresh approach to maximizing fresh air and your view while offering a smooth and steady screen operation, ergonomic and intuitive function, smart and neutral design and a simple and quick 30 minute installation - all with the benefit of a limited lifetime warranty. Brisa Retractable Screen Door offers homeowners a fresh approach to traditional screen doors. Like hinged screen doors, Brisa allows fresh air to circulate into the home. But Brisa does that without all the banging and slamming and in-the-way hassles of a traditional hinged screen door. Brisa's full view screen also fully retracts when not in use so it doesn't get in the way. It's there when you need it and out of sight when you don't.

  • Brisa retractable screen door in white for standards 6 ft. 8 in. in-swing or out-swing entry doors and is reversible for both left and right door swings
  • Innovative EZ glide system provides a smooth and steady experience - each and every time the screen is opened or retracted
  • Secure locking latch and ergonomic handle offers a simple 1-hand operation and provides confidence that the screen will stay closed
  • 30-Minute installation - smartly designed with ease of installation in mind, no metal cutting is required and only 1 power driver tool is needed to install 5 components in only 30-minutes
  • Simple-to-install quick-snap track (patent pending) can be snapped into the screen housing and adjusted to proper length without cutting - providing a universal fit for 95% of the most common door widths/styles
  • Outer face-mount installation creates a full opening for fresh air circulation, unobstructed view and full pass-through space without the intrusive housing or track associated with in-jamb installed retractable screen doors
  • A symmetrical design and neutral material selections coordinate with the brick or wood molding of your home's architecture
  • Subtle stripes woven into the screen provide visual cues to help prevent screen walk-through - especially on days when bright sunlight can seem to make the screen “disappear”
  • Durable painted surfaces and rust- free aluminum housing and track require no maintenance
  • Limited lifetime warranty - all parts are covered under a limited lifetime warranty except for the screen mesh
  • Design adjust quickly for the most popular (95%) doors 32 in. - 36 in., if less than 32 in. two simple cuts are required

It can, but depending on how clever the cat is, I am not sure it will kepp him / her out. The bottom track does not offer much resistance. It will provide good air flow....

My threshold is slightly slanted outward (for water runoff, I suspect). Will this door fit tightly at the bottom?

I've installed three of these. All worked well. Just follow instructions. Keep in mind there is variation in thresholds so fi there is some space it may be filled with shims and construction adhesive.

Answer:
It should. Be aware that with this retractable door there is nothing but a small guide to hold the screen fast both at the top and the bottom. A strong winds will blow it out of the guide and it will not hold back animals. They push it out and off they go!

Answer:
This door will do the job. Just keep in mind cat claws will damage the screen so an expectation of a long lasting screen depends on the cat and its habits with regard to clawingg or cleaning claws

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 52 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by nice door, easy to install value Good screen door for the the $. had a little problem during intial assemble because the directions, don't have a good enough close-up picture/drawing of how the cross members insert to main frames. but once that was solved it screwed onto frame very easy and functions very smooth. I'd recommend it. PS entry door must have a threshold to discretely mount the lower cross member to. Screen door has a lower channel bar and it is / could be stepped on while passing through door. Latch is a spring clasp not a magnet that fastens well to frame. August 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love it. Easy to install. Shipped to my home in five days. Took 20 minutes to read instructions fully. Followed them exactly, and about 30 minutes later the sliding door was in and working perfectly (assuming you have a standard sized door frame). All that was needed was a drill and a screwdriver. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love the Brisa sliding door! I had ordered a sliding door on HomeDepot.ca and when it arrived it had A LOT of parts. I was randomly at HD for something else when I saw the Brisa display and it looked so simple, the display model seemed to work fine, and the price was better than the one I had ordered online. I bought it and went to work installing. The instruction were a little iffy, but once I ignored them it was really intuitive - this entire unit is just SIMPLE. It took 45 minutes to install the first one as I was hesitant to cut the cross tracks (the instructions didn't indicate which end to cut), but it worked so well I bought another one for our other door and it took less than 15 minutes to install. The doors look great, they slide really well, and we haven't had a problem yet (no sliding off the track or jamming or tearing). We've had them up for 2 months now and often have the front and back doors open to get a breeze, and these things have been absolutely amazing - absolutely no concerns yet!! And the price is incredible - about 1/4 compared to what some others are charging for the fancy doors, but I don't see the advantage of them! August 15, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Too expensive for an alright screen... When we first saw the video for installation and looked at the website, we were pretty impressed. However, when we received the item, the frame for the door did not sit well on the outer frame of the door and the top had some obvious gaps that are slanted. the screen on the door is also really flimsy and if nudged in the slightest, it comes off from the groove/slot thats suppose to hold it in place. we wanted the screen door to get the air breeze in and kip the cat fr running out but this door did not really do wad we wanted. plus it doesnt really seem to kip insects out either. so im really not super keen on it but i definitely think it was easy to install. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Does not fit doors with mouldings The installation video was exellent until I got to inserting the Brisa into the door opening and ran into troubles with the door casings, mouldings framing the doorway. Most doors have mouldings and are not finished flush as in your video. It would be very helpful if you allowed consideration for vertical trim as well as horizontal. As it was I had to cut half of the mouldings away to accommodate the Brisa frame. There were multiple gaps as a result of the misfit which required silicone sealant to prevent insects from entering. All in all it works well now that it is installed, but the installation guidance could be improved upon. June 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love it! I didn't install it but the handy man who did said it was the second one he had installed this week. So the installation went really well. It meets my needs, in other words it keeps the bugs out and lets the breeze in. July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy installation Having read other reviews I was skeptical but I ordered it amy way and am glad I did. I needed this for my basement entrance which is one of those bulkhead, 5 see walkdowns. There's really no other option for this type of entrance since the main door opens in and you can't have a screen door open out because of the bulkhead. Installation was easy peasy. Honestly I don't know what the other reviews are talking about. The door works great. Highly recommend it - particularly for my application. August 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very utile The video said this is a 30 minute installation and it would have been except for an extrusion error on one of the components. 10 minutes work with the tip of a jewelers file and it was ready to go. August 30, 2016
