36 in. x 80 in. White Retractable Screen for Single Inswing Door is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 51.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product, not a simple installation. You should know a couple of things about this pull-out door. First, it's really made to go inside the casing of an existing door. When you pull the screen out, it goes on tracks and if those are mounted on the exterior of the door frame, there is nothing for the end of the screen to seal against; you will need to add a strip of wood vertically along the door casing to create a contact surface that seals the door. Second, on this unit for in-swing doors, the placement of the bottom metal sill is critical. The entire door's placement depends on inserting a plastic tab into the track which fastens to the sill plate which fastens on the door sill. I had to use a vibrating saw and chisel to remove about 3/4" of my existing wood door sill to get the provided metal sill, bottom track and door mechanism lined up, and I had to remove and re-mount the roll-up door mechanism three times to get the relationship of the pieces just right. Don't count on getting this done in an hour or two unless your door frame and casing configuration is just right. It's not a trivial installation unless you get lucky, and I've done more than my share of wood work. All told, I spent more than six hours installing this door. As far as the screen, it's a nice piece, it pulls easily along the tracks, and the quality of the materials is good. I recommend having a few extra 3" x #8 deck screws handy to replace the mounting screws that come with the door, as I eventually rounded out the Philips heads on those screws by removing and reinstalling them. I also recommend having a variable speed drill with Philips head driver for this install, as it will reduce your wrist fatigue.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good quality poor instructions Chuck the instructions and figure your own way to install if not inside the frame. I'm pretty handy but still took me 6 hours to figure out and install. Had to make significant changes to door frame to attain a mounting surface. Once installed i am pleased with the door.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just What I Wanted For Our Entry In The Garage I just finished installing this door. If you follow the instructions it is quite easy to install. I used a drill press to make the 5/32 holes for the top and bottom track. Cutting the tracks and threshold plate is easier if you have access to a chop saw with a metal cutting blade. I surface installed this door to the brick molding. I wish ODL provided 2 Plastic caps you could push on to the end of the tracks to give it a more finished look. Ok, let the cool breezes blow.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful Screen Door This is my third retractable screen door, it is replacing one that was ripped after 7 years of use. I did try and install the replacement screen instead of buying a whole new unit, but unfortunately a part got broken when it was removed. I am happy with the new door, it is clean and fresh and works great. I highly recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product, hard to install I guess my door opening was an odd size because i found this door a very lengthy install. I ended up having to install 3 additional trim and sill pieces. I suppose you cant make a product like this to fit all door openings without some alterations. Bottom line, product seems to be well made, is attractive and works perfect. Just be aware that you may be in for a longer install time than you think. I also found the instructions a bit confusing. After trying it by the book, i threw them out and figured out myself.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Limited installation options makes me hesitant to recommend Version: For in-swing door. First, I choose this to replace a traditional swinging screen door on a 1953 house. To be fair many things about an old house are different from the way younger houses are built. One problem is there is not enough wood trim around the door to connect to. This would not be as big an issue if this product came with a full frame around the perimeter. However there is no frame on the latch side. Since this product is mounted on the outside of the door frame, on the latch side there is nothing to connect the [magnetic] latch to. There is a big gap. Threshold: Since there is a bottom track there is a trip hazard. My threshold extends beyond the plane of the top and two sides requiring the bottom track to be installed on top of it.They do include a threshold transition but it was very very difficult to install and required quite a few holes in the metal threshold. I also found the instructions to be lacking. There should be actual photos of the pieces rather than line drawings. I spent over 2 hours installing and still need to return today because my installation on the roller side required screws longer than they provided. Also note the instructions come with a disclaimer regarding keeping pets etc. inside. A regular screen door will do a much better job of keeping pets in and critters out. To improve the product the mfg needs to have a full perimeter frame.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product, a bit expensive This is a great product for those that need an occasional screen door. When the door is not in use, it is rolled up and stored in the cylinder on the hinge side of the door. Generally looks pretty decent. This is my second one and the installation took about 15 minutes.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It would be nice if doors from this company actually fit the openings. First, the door is made very well. Hence, the reason for my recommending the door for others. The problem is; they don't fit the door openings, per their stated size. I first purchased a 36 x 80 unit, it was actually 36 x 81 1/2. It was too tall. I bought this one because it was supposed to fit an in-swing patio door. It fits against the exterior frame of the door, requiring my building up the center vertical door support, and including a 1 1/4" x 2" fill piece along the top. Yes, this one is too short. Due to the fact that I an reasonably handy, it is not the end of the world. However, if you say it's a 80" door, deliver one. I would rate the door as excellent, if it fit the way it was designed.
