Works like it should. When using two retractable screen doors together you need this product. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that we have an 8' high screen door and the top and bottom latches need to be mounted at the very top and bottom of the screen. When opening the second door (the one secured by these latches) it is hard to reach the latches. The prior set of screen doors that we had installed had a longer pin attached so the latches were about a foot away from the edge of the screen making it much easier to reach.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Stewart Must be re-engineered for some applications
Installed the ODL dual retractable on a new set of fir french doors. The bottom lock was easy enough since a simple hole in the metal threshold secured the bottom of the stationary retractable screen door. But, on the top side the lock did not align with the upper retractable screen track and no mounting bracket was supplied to allow mounting to the upper retractable screen track or the overhead door frame. The simplistic installation instructions did not match my install. Fortunately, I had a brass door latch handle that I easily machined and mounted to the upper door frame. Despite this, it is still an essential part of the installation for a double french door.

The bolt that goes into the top and bottom is to short to reach the door jamb. I will have to add a piece of wood or some kind of bracket which will not look that good. Had they designed the bolt to be longer (6 inches) to start with, it would work on all door frames. For shorter distances to the top of the door you can just mount it lower on the screen door frame. When this is researched, they need to state how long the bolt is, so you can measure before you order this kit.

ODL Screen Doors are DIY. Definitely half the cost of the professionally installed ones. Each Door will take you about two hours and you need to be fairly handy and have all the right tools.
ODL Screen Doors are excellent for Single Door installs. The Double Door install design is not great. The magnet that connects the two doors together is poorly designed. Everything else about the door design is good.

Home Depot had retractable screen doors that would fit
our double front doors. We'd previously priced them and
it would have cost over 700.00. We purchased the two
separate doors and for 25.00 purchased this magnetic
'meet in the middle' connection. Total cost for all was about 275.00! Amazing price and they work great.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by BillGriz Product Good - Instructions just OK
Product works fine. Installation was not difficult but instructions for this and the screen doors these went with are poor. It takes considerable reviewing of the instrucrtions before the "intent" of the instructions is understood. Then no problem. Had to order this product. I would've expected it to be carried in the store.
