Standard Height 36 in. x 80 in. Retractable Screen in Sandstone for Single Inswing Door-DISCONTINUED is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 67.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replaced a sliding screen-door This was an unconventional installation. We didn't want to replace a missing sliding screen-door because it would interrupt the view of the fixed window when closed. I just had 3 cuts to make with a hacksaw, had to trim a short piece of existing rail, and do a little wood trimming to fit the magnets. We're very happy with this product. It's almost too see-through. From a short distance you can't tell that there is a screen there.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Product, but Not for the Timid or Novice Handyperson I really envy those who say installaion "was a breeze". I am a pretty handy guy, and I am finding the installation quite a handful. I am so far beyond the 1-2 hrs. suggested installation time it is laughable. That said, there are several pros and cons to this thing, and here are my observations: First, Instruction booklet does not provide enough information, i.e., if you do not want to have to step over the bottom track, and you have what they call a "short sill", use the track settings for the regular sill. DO NOT EXTEND 3/4" beyond the edge of the sill plate. I repeat: DO NOT EXTEND 3/4" beyond the edge of the sill plate. Second, if you have addlitional trim that extends beyond the threshold, and you want a professional looking entry, be prepared to spend lots of extra time and some extra money designing and building your own threshould extension. Be aware, this is strictly a custom job. ODL provides no plans or guidance for this task. Do not be surprised if you find yourself making repeated trips to the hardware store for supplies or tools required for the sill modification. Third, the instructions are vague at best and wrong at worst. The illustrations and diagrams are poor. Photos would be better. Now the good news. First, there is light at the end of the tunnel if you are careful, patient and persistent. My neighbor has one on their house and it looks and works great. (BTW, that neighbor is an engineer and a very handy guy. It took him a lot of time to install his.) Second, their call-in tech line is very good. The tech was very knowledgeable and patient. She did not rush me, and she offered replacement parts at no cost to me if I had problems. Third, she did point out that the instructions to extend the threshold 3/4" beyond the extended trim was "wrong". ODL is very much aware of the allembly instruction "problem". My question is, when are they going to do something about it? Fourth, my comment about size being an issue has to do with the fact that there seems to be a consistent need to insert a nailer for the top track on regular height doors. This deficiency adds more time, work and materials to the job. (Read other reviews.) Good luck to all. Iam looking forward to some mosquito-free cross ventilation real soon. :-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeded expectations and still garnering compliments from my neighbors! My wife and I were searching for a screen door option for our new french doors out to our deck. Sliding screens were not an option because we wanted to be able to have both doors completely open without a screen sometimes. Swinging doors were not an option due to space requirements for an outswinging door. I found the retractable screens and thought they would be a good option but was wary of how they worked and looked. After tons of research I decided to go with the ODL doors. Most of the complaints (which is what I look for in reviews) were regarding installation. Realizing that most people are not mechanically inclined I figured it couldn't be that bad. After receiving the doors I was a little overwhelmed with the task before me. Surprisingly, though, installation was not that difficult, even for a perfectionist. My skills fall somewhere between installing a new bathroom (minus the electrical work) and building a new deck. I installed 2 doors by myself in about 2 hours. Most of that time is spent measuring and remeasuring before cutting the supplied tracks. Everything goes up with just a handful of screws and is very sturdy. The doors look great! I've gotten compliments from all of my neighbors. They function even better than I expected - smooth sliding, tight magnetic latch between doors, sealed on all edges to keep the bugs out. Best thing is when I don't need them I can just retract them and they are completely out of the way. One word of caution though, the screen goes from floor to top of door frame with no frame of its own visible from inside so it is difficult to see when it is closed. I did manage to walk into the screen the first day I had it but luckily not through it. I would highly recommend the ODL retractable screens, especially for french doors, even if you have to pay someone to install them for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall Service Not only was this product quite easy to install, it works great. BUT the key factor for a 56 star rating]g was the customer service I received. When I called with an installation issue (that I created), the customer service rep basically helped me fix the installation while on the phone and she did it while not making me feel stupid.,. Secondly, ODL replaced the parts that I messed up and shipped overnight at their expense.. I have never experienced such outstanding service in a very long time. I can't say this was the case at an HD store looking at the same product which is why I went on line..

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wonderful concept! Without anyone to help/hold, my husband reports installation took 1.5 hours. The door slides well and does everything it claimed to. However, our standard exterior door is 2" taller than our new screen door. We will have to cover the gap with trim. The manufacturers assume you have a flat/flush door frame and a wooden sill to screw the screen's sill to. We had to make adaptations here too. Overall, the door looks and works great. In fact, the view is so good, I'm afraid we'll walk through the screen!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is an awesome product. This is an awesome product. The directions were a bit difficult to understand, but we ultimately figured it out. It requires two people for installation. The door looks beautiful when engaged, and hides away splendidly when open, revealing my beautiful antique front door.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Problems with Sill Instructions Now that the door is installed, it's great. However, the instructions for the different sills are incorrect. That was a big problem taking over a week to resolve. We had a "short" sill, and the instructions say to install a filler board and it MUST extend it 3/4" beyond the exterior trim. So, we made and installed the filler board according to the instructions, and it was a problem. Doing it that way, the bottom track would have to sit on top of the filler board and you would be stepping on it. Customer service agreed that if you want the bottom track to be level with the sill, the filler board must be FLUSH with the exterior trim (not extended 3/4") so that the bottom track could be mounted to the filler board outside and below the sill. So we had to remake the filler board, paint it, and reinstall the new one. Plus the instructions say to cut the metal sill that comes with the door 1" shorter than your sill. This, too, is incorrect. Now the metal sill is too short but usable. Now that the door is installed, it's really nice. The finishing edges are beautiful, the screen works well, and we are very pleased. I hope this helps prevent someone else from running into the same problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT PRICE, LOOKS NICE, CAN BE EASY TO INSTALL Compared to the ones you buy and have installed this is a real bargain. The instillation is easy IF your door swings in and you have at least an inch of flat trim around the door. In my case, the trim ended an inch above the concrete floor and the very bottom of the screen cover has a screw that needs to have something to hold. I used 2 part epoxy to add a small piece of wood at the bottom of the trim for the bottom screw. I highly suggest you read the directions a couple of times on the ODL site and watch the video. Do this to determine if you want to even undertake this project. I would venture a guess that those who have problems have an odd ball door frame or don't follow instructions. In my opinion, great product and price. BTW - our Maltese dog has already been through it. We knew this would happen but she was too fast. We now have an easy to remove doggie gate. Good luck to all.
