Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Tony0154 Replaced a sliding screen-door
This was an unconventional installation. We didn't want to replace a missing sliding screen-door because it would interrupt the view of the fixed window when closed. I just had 3 cuts to make with a hacksaw, had to trim a short piece of existing rail, and do a little wood trimming to fit the magnets. We're very happy with this product. It's almost too see-through. From a short distance you can't tell that there is a screen there.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Magicman The Retractable Screen Door is made of top quality materials with a very simple design to provide years and years of service
Solid construction with easy to follow installation instructions.
Only took @ 1 hour to install and functions great. Added quite a nice look to the doorway and is very inconspicuous when retracted. Will add another to our front door in the near future.

Screens started coming out of the bottom just a few weeks after installation. This was not due to bumping the screen at all. Its as if the screen was just not long enough. We bought two of these for our french doors and BOTH started doing this. Also, a couple of weeks after that, one of the doors would not retract back. We had a pair before these that worked well and I loved them but they were damaged by renters. We had to pay $175 to have these installed and then we had to have them uninstalled because we do not live in the same state as our rental property....waste of money. Returned for refund.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Jhammer3 Overall Service
Not only was this product quite easy to install, it works great. BUT the key factor for a 56 star rating]g was the customer service I received. When I called with an installation issue (that I created), the customer service rep basically helped me fix the installation while on the phone and she did it while not making me feel stupid.,. Secondly, ODL replaced the parts that I messed up and shipped overnight at their expense..
I have never experienced such outstanding service in a very long time. I can't say this was the case at an HD store looking at the same product which is why I went on line..

My experience was exactly as others. I had a lot of trouble with the instructions, especially for the bottom pieces. I had to make numerous adjustments from top to bottom to get it to fit but it finally did. I had to return to Home Depot to take pictures of their display to help in my installation. I am pretty handy at installing things for the home. As with the other reviews we are thrilled with the door and would recommend it to others. The instructions need to be more specific and easier to read with more diagrams.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Eastbaymama Great front door screen
We had one of these in our former home and loved it. So it was one of the first things we purchased and installed in the new home. It's been great for keeping the dog in while the kids are outside. The magnets are VERY strong and the door is a bit hard to open and close for a small kid. You need to hold onto it when opening so it doesn't snap back too fast. ALS, the first day we installed it, it looked so clear a child almost ran through it but luckily the screen did not break.

Overall we love these retractable screens, we live n the mountains and enjoy having our door open.
I purchased this door thru homedepot.com, delivery was OK & on time.
Installation was pretty straightforward, I had installed one previously, this was a replacement.
The screen retraction is very good, very smooth. Strong magnet helps keep the door latched, much better than the design on my old one, which would often jam if not closed correctly.
One drawback: i needed to do an exterior mount, and when the screen is closed the leading edge of the screen doesn't contact anything - it has some some "brush" type weather strip on the lead edge, but it doesn't contact anything. i had to add a stip of 1/4" molding along the lead edge, also on the top to close the gap and seal it tight.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by weekendwarrior Wonderful concept!
Without anyone to help/hold, my husband reports installation took 1.5 hours. The door slides well and does everything it claimed to. However, our standard exterior door is 2" taller than our new screen door. We will have to cover the gap with trim. The manufacturers assume you have a flat/flush door frame and a wooden sill to screw the screen's sill to. We had to make adaptations here too. Overall, the door looks and works great. In fact, the view is so good, I'm afraid we'll walk through the screen!
