It is important that these panels be at least 23.5 " for me and at least 46 3/4 " long. The answers offer conflicting information on the size of these. One answer says they are 22" wide and another says 23.75 The home depot exports need to get rid of the answer that is wrong. I have already wasted a trip to home depot and came home with one that is 22 " and must be taken back. Would someone please clarify?
Asked by: Rick
They are selling the smaller size in the lighting fixture department though. Home Depot needs to move those to the electrical department if that's what you guys recommend. But that is not where they are selling the larger size.

What tool is recommended to trim these down to a smaller size?

Asked by: Savwich
I have cut and installed thousands of these plastic light panels and in my opinion, the best way to cut them to size is to use a table saw. You can also use a handheld circular saw or Skill Saw. 1. Table Saw Method: Run a piece of masking tape along your cut line on the back (smooth) side of the lens so that the saw blade will cut down the middle of the tape to prevent chipping and cracking during cutting. Cut with the tape side down against the saw table and cut in a smooth, steady pace. remove the tape when finished. Stopping mid-cut or cutting too slowly will cause the blade to heat up and the plastic could melt. If the lens begins slapping against the saw table, you are moving too fast, or your blade may be dull. You can control this and prevent chipping by placing a board on top of the plastic. 2. Circular Saw Method: Sandwich the plastic between two pieces of wood when you cut it. Mark your cut line on the top piece of wood and then cut through the whole wood/plastic sandwich. You don't need to tape your cut line with this method. It doesn't matter how thick the wood is, as long as your saw blade will cut through it. 1/2" to 3/4" plywood or boards are ideal.

This panel was too small to fit into the 2 ft by 4 ft suspended ceiling grid. I measured the panel and it was only 22 in. by 26 in. Forty minute round trip to pick it up and now another to return it. Complete waste of time and money. I researched the sizes of the acrylic light panel and it seems these were undersized for some time. I'll be more leary of buying from Home Depot now and use a tape measure before I buy from them. Really frustrated about the inconvenience.

How many times do people have to point out your numbers are wrong? These are not 23.75" long, they are 22". I like others wasted my time and gas based on your incorrect information on the product. Pull your head out and listen to the customer feedback. Hello Lowes.

Luckily that's exactly what I needed, so in reading the other 1 star reviews I bought this mislabeled one and saved myself from having to trim it. Update the description and it gets 4-5 stars. Some people need this size, but how would they find it? I got lucky.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not size they claim to be Hauled these home and to the basement to find they are 22 x 46 inches and do not fit, even though the specs say they are larger. Unfortunately, we took old ones down (30 years old) and had gotten rid of them as they were yellowed and cracked. Now we have no replacements and will have another trip ack to vehicle, to Home Depot to return and then to competitor who does have right size. Unnecessary since this has repeatedly been pointed out. Will do my other shopping at competitors since I have to go anyway.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from difficult to cut to size and breaks easily Needed to cut the width and length to fit the ceiling fixture encasement. Even with the plastic cutter recommended, it was very difficult to it cleanly. Even harder to place in the ceiling enclosure without it bending and cracking. I'll find another solution cause I'm not doing this again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Glued on opaque label can not be removed the opaque label will not come off the panel. Used Hayden plastic cutter and did get a piece cut with great difficulty. But with the label problem I plan to take the whole mess back and only buy a sheet that Ifirst remove the label successfully from.
