5-Light Antique Brass Chandelier is rated 1.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy unless you want to spend more making it work! Omg, this chandelier was a nightmare! Shipping was fine and packaging was OK (I did have a few broken pieces) but the product was not U.S. friendly. I will have to say that assembly was easy compared to a different chandelier I had to put together in the past. The 5-light extensions were already put together and taped securely so that was good. Here's a list of pains in the rear: 1. The mounting plate is NOT US standard, at least nothing I've seen before. It is not the standard metal plate that goes across the hole in the ceiling. The mount it comes with appears to be a vertical install. I had to go to the actual Home Depot store and buy the right mounting plate. 2. It says it's a 5-light chandelier but it very much looks like 6. There is an extra socket in the center of the chandelier that you don't see in the picture. There is nothing to cover this up and it clearly is a socket! It's actually embarrassing because it's so apparent and you can't hide it. The hubby suggests buying a pendant cover and putting in that extra 6th bulb! 3. The plate that is supposed to cover the hole in the ceiling is TOO small. It was either I buy a bigger cover OR I buy one of those circle crown moulding things - I did the latter. 4. Now, I know that I get what I pay for but the things that dangle are super duper cheap looking and also way too fragile. The other chandelier I mentioned above has cheap (acrylic) dangly parts too but it was a ton thicker at least. The ones on this piece were really light in weight and you if you're not careful, you will break them. 5. I ended up not liking the way it lights up at all. I know, I know, the very top doesn't have a bulb so of course it's going to not light up but it looks really weird. So when I turn the chandelier on, the bottom lights up and the dangly stuff looks OK but above it, it's dark and because it's made of really cheap stuff, it looks really ugly. It also looks like I have a broken bulb or something ... IDK, I think the design of it is just really poor. If it wasn't for all the work I've already put into wiring and buying all these extra parts for it, I'd return it. For now, I'll just hang on to it until something better comes along and I'll craigslist this chandelier. Home Depot has said that the vendors they work with are international so they basically are not responsible for providing you with the right US parts. You'll have to buy those separately which blows because the light already blows and you just spent more on it than you had intended to. Not Home Depot's fault but as consumers, we are unaware of this until we buy and then rely on reviews to share the discovery.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Okay if you are looking for cheap. Many problems with this product. If you are looking for something cheap to put up then these will work. I put them in a standard eight foot ceiling. Big mistake, bottom hung at 5 ft. 4 in and that is with only 1 link of chain. So here are the main problems. 1. They look nice if you want to stay inexpensive. I like mine after some improvements. It does leave a wide dark area above the lights. And it really looks like there should be a light in the glass above the lights. Makes it look strange without one. One glass above is in two parts, one round ball on bottom and 1 eight inch vase looking piece on top of it. I bought new 12' center rods and cut them down to 7". I then rebuilt the light without the vase looking piece. Helped a little with the dark spot above the light and raised it to 6 ft 1 in to the bottom of the light. This was perfect for over table. This room never had ceiling lights before and I put 2 of them up for a formal dinging room. I love the finished product. (for cheap) 2. Instructions are terrible. Does not state what the parts are and cannot tell from the pictures. Okay, will just count how many of each and sort it out that way. Wrong. Parts count does not match the instructions. Glad I work construction and have to figure stuff like this out all the time. 3. Did I say missing parts? Not only from the instructions but had 1 of the Krystal dangles on each light missing. No idea where to buy any like it locally. 4. Ceiling attachment. While the base is small, it did cover the electrical opening. However, this was a new install and I cut the holes tight to the box. The attachment peice is something I have never seen. I did have to go back to Home Depot and buy the light hangers to hang them from the box. Ceiling fans come with them as do most lights. Can not describe the peice that came with the light or how to use it, and as stated, I have had to figure a lot of things out in construction. 5. Plastic is cheap but the wire holding the peices together is worse. The wires were stuck together when pulling them out of the box. Need really good vision and a lot of patience to get them apart and hang right. To sum up, Missing parts, terrible instructions, leaves dark spot above light, Haveing to spend time to get apart. I spent about $10 each on parts to make them the work & be something I am happy to live with. The hieght issue was my problem but made it work for me and I actually like them better without the vase peice. This was all a manufacturers problems, not Home Depot. I know they just sell the items.
