Am thinking about buying this but with all the reviews saying how poor the instructions are, I am hesitant. Hopefully the manufacturer has gotten the hint and updated the instructions to be user friendly. Would like to know.

Answer:
I would say no, having installed this just a month ago. There are sketches but no photographs and virtually no text to explain the process. If you are very patient, pay very close attention to the sketches, and have some mechanical talent it can be done, but only at some cost to your blood pressure.

Answer:
the stationary glass panel can be moved to the right side and the door can be installed so as to open from the left...the door panel has holes pre-drilled for the handle and the four rollers so it has to be used as a door

Answer:
having just finished mine, I really can't see where it would make a difference...the water is going to hit both the stationary panel as well as the door...there are gaskets/sweeps that should contain the water to the inside of the shower no matter where you locate your shower head

Generally, the shower should never spray toward the open door, always from the side.

Customer Reviews

34 in. x 34 in. x 76 in. Shower Kit with Reversible Sliding Door and Shower Base is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent Quality...Horrible instructions Just finished my installation last night and am very happy with the end result. The unit looks great, appears to be very sturdy and should last a long time. Unfortunately, Ove is doing themselves a real disservice by sending out an installation manual that is very challenging to understand and follow. I am a 63-year old HVAC contractor who has done installation and maintenance type work most of my working life. With that as a reference point, I can tell you that I nearly lost my religion trying to figure out how this thing goes together. I would NEVER recommend this as a DIY project unless you are extremely patient and very mechanically inclined!!! Were I the CEO of Ove, I would quickly produce a CD of a real person clearly detailing the installation of this unit step-by-step and include it with every new unit.

The shower base, framework/rollers, and glass door/fixed panel all appear to be top notch. The walls are flimsy and the directions are poor. Interior is tight but if you have a small bath this may be a good fit for you.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I'm Happy!! This is a great shower to purchase for the buy. The installation wasn't easy (instructions) but you can get it done. I'm very handy and it took me several hours. So start the job early. Remember there is no plum wall unless you personally make it that way. The trick to hide the exposed wood is to use quarter round. I hope this review is helpful; Good luck.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice We stayed in a vacation rental with this shower and found it to be roomy, comfortable, and easy to use. I like the fact that it is real glass, not plexiglass, and that there is no swinging door or curtain, which makes it really convenient for small spaces. We are considering this shower now for our own home bathroom remodel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very nice shower once it is put together. VERY difficult to assemble and one chrome part bent for which we had to reorder from Canada, but part came in about 4 days (they said 5-7) so not too bad. The shower is great, very sturdy, but took two guys half a day to figure out the instructions.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice Shower - difficult directions Some of the directions are lacking and we did find a few errors on drill sizing. When putting up the wood strips on the wall prior to installation (which was optional in the directions) we found the shower walls to not touch in most places so we redesigned the wood placement. The walls are nice and everything comes covered in a thin film of plastic which protected the surface while installing. It looks really nice. If you don't have any experience this would not be a good starter project.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very high quality Had some difficulty with installation. Home Depot does not provide this service. Appears very durable.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Instructions lacking I would recommend that Home Depot take some time and review the instructions on this, or don't sell it as a do-it-yourself product. Perhaps publish something that covers the installation from head to toe?
