Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Popeye Great item! I've wanted one for years. I'm glad I waited for this one.
Heavy duty and I'm not afraid to leave it on my front patio.

The chiminea seems to be well built but what I'm not happy with is that it really gives off no heat unless you are sitting right up next to it. Also we have only had this out less than one month and it is already rusting in several places.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cricket VERY BEAUTIFUL!!!
We received our Chimenea today. It was quite easy to put together, and quite heavy (weighing in at 170 lbs). But it was very easy assembly and a very beautiful object. It is a fantastic addition to our patio. When the kids got home from school, the first thing they wanted to do was light it! Gorgeous when lit, even so when it is not. A great conversation piece too!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by WarminMN Great patio addition - looks like it will last a lifetime
This is an update to my previous review.
Had the chiminea for over a year now and it still rates an 'excellent'.
We did want to note that these chimineas will eventually rust if not protected. We have a friend who has one that's15 years old and still functional but completely rusted over (he leaves it unprotected outside year round).
We found the beginnings of rust on ours after having left it covered outside in the Minnesota winter. The 'instructions' suggest painting it with an epoxy to protect it although they are not very specific about this. We purchased and used Rustoleum Automotive High Heat clear paint (2000 degree formulation) # 260771 and coated ours at the beginning of this season - absolutely no rust apparent. Two 11 ounce cans were more than enough to coat. The paint is 'flat' and so maintains the original finish of the chiminea. We will keep an eye on ours and re-coat as necessary.
Hope this helps.

Spark arresting screen is neat. Great looks, probably will be with my great great grand kids. Roasts hot dogs, etc with minimum of wood scraps. I think Chimineas don't get better than this. Glad we bought it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Birdman Buy this and be the talk of the neighborhood!
The Hummingbird Chiminea is beautifully constructed of heavy cast iron. Only minor assembly is required; attaching the 3 legs with 2 bolts each, 3 screws to fasten the top chimney, and a couple of bolts to hold on the hinged door. There is a removable grate located in the bottom of the fire pot and a spark arrester screen located between the bottom pot and the top chimney sections. The neighbors all oooh and aaah when looking at it. We have yet to start a fire in it but look forward to using it later this summer and fall.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by mamadowg A Little Pricey but Definitely Worth It
This chimenea is just what I have been looking for. It is sturdy, well-made and attractive. I was leary about spending alot of money on a chimenea, but chose to give this one a try because it was made out of cast-iron with a powder coat overlay instead of clay. The construction is very solid, sturdy, and durable, and will probably outlast me. Was definitely worth the extra money as compared to the cost of similar clay models. HOWEVER, I do feel that for the price, it could have come with a cover. The detail of the hummingbirds and morning glories are perfect and the color is also neutral enough that it can nicely enhance any decor.

We have used this chiminea only twice, but I feel as though I have already gotten enough joy from it to pay for itself. The belly is the largest I've seen on any chiminea and the thing weights a ton. LOVE IT!!
