I'm remodeling my kitchen. Before, I ran a line from a small hole through the floor that connected to the cold water line to my refrigerator. So, I took the opportunity to install an outlet box as long as I was breaking into walls and redoing some plumbing. It installed fine and doesn't leak. I'm happy now that I'll be able to shut off the water to the refrigerator without having to go under the house.

Re- drywalling, installed as a new work box. Sweated copper fitting before threading on to valve. Worked well for what i needed. Would of gave 5 of 5, but the box itself if kind of cheap.

Why not use a compression fitting to install the valve? It's nearly impossible to solder the valve stem onto existing copper pipe, often has residual water in it, without melting the plastic box. Very poor design.

no matter what I tried, this thing leaked from the threaded end. I used sharkbite fittings and a female threaded end to attach to the threaded end of the box.
It is going back.
