Customer Reviews

16 cu. ft. 1250 lb. Capacity Steel Dump Cart is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from This dump cart is exactly what I was looking for. This dump cart is a replacement of a 10 cu. ft. cart which has served me well. When it was time to look for a larger and more heavy duty dump cart, this Ohio Steel cart looked like the one that would work well for me and last a long time. I did what another reviewer suggested and that was to cut and place a piece of plywood in the floor for re-inforcement. Not that the steel floor is weak, it's just to add some extra strength. The cart arrived in a large well packed carton with everything intact. Plenty of hardware and instructions were easy to follow. If you are looking for a sturdy well made dump cart, then this is the one to consider.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compared to rest - Excellent value This is my 2nd cart after my original just wore out. The original was a cheap, 10 cu. ft. model. After extensive internet searching (and after searching very limited available models at various stores), this one was by far the best for the price. First, it's very heavy duty steel. Second, the axle is very heavy duty being 1" in diameter. Third, the tires are heavy duty turf tires that inflate to 30#!! The tongue is heavy duty with strong supports to the cart body. Fourth, the delivery was free to the driveway; whereas, other big box stores wanted to charge as much as $175. Fifth, the wheels are pretty evenly placed under the cart. Sixth, the gate is heavy steel and formed for strength with the slide mechanism a heavy duty attachment, not just a slot cut in the steel sides. The downsides are as follows: The dump latch will independently release. This was solved (as usual) by bolting the cart to the tongue (often noted by other reviews). I usually just unhook the cart and dump the cart by picking it up by the tongue, pivoting the cart on the wheels. It's fast, easy and no fuss. The dump mechanism is of little advantage anyway in unloading anything. Recommended: Lay a sheet of 3/8 or 1/2 scrap plywood on the bottom of the cart. It allows much better distribution of load weight and well protects the bottom steel from flexing/bending/breaking. It adds little weight to the cart.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ohio Steel Dump Cart I bought this dump cart to use on our ranch for hauling everything behind our 4 Wheelers, we have used ones we bought from Sears stores for over 10 years. When I saw this one and it said I could haul 1250 lbs. for the price I thought it would be more durable than all the rest we have owned. It took over 24 days to arrive with the free shipping to our ranch. The shipping company kept sending it back to the hub. After calling them and the local store and complaining they ended up delivering it 11 days late. I put it together and hauled a load of fire wood and thought it was great. Then I tried to haul road fill lime store road base material. I only put 1/3rd of a load in the cart and started moving it toward the location and the hitch bent and the dump cart lost the load out the back and bent the tailgate and all the hardware. I will be contacting the store to see if they will refund or replace this item. Only used two times and broken. Was not over the load limit either.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice yard helper This cart pulls nicely behind the tractor compared to the old one. It is well built and does it's job well. My husband is impressed with this one compared to his old cart and that is saying alot for the cart considering my husband doesn't like to give anything up for something new and doesn't like change.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very pleased with my new, high capacity dump cart I am hauling a lot of firewood these days and I needed a dump cart with greater capacity. This cart really fit the bill and the larger axle and bigger tires are perfect. One of the suggestions others have made is to line the bottom of the cart with a sheet of plywood and that is a good suggestion. Otherwise, I had no problems putting the cart together (it comes disassembled) and the instructions were easy to follow.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst cart ever The cart arrived in a damaged condition and the axle was the wrong length. The axle was to long for the cart. I had to call the company and they sent me a correct axle. The dump latch did not hook and the back lift panel is not very strong and bends easily. Overall I would not recommend this cart.
