I have a Komatsu PC 18 mini excavator with a specified weight of 1800 lbs. I would like to use these ramps to move the excavator into the bed of my pick up truck (it will fit) with a one ton capacity. Do you think these will work OK?
Asked by: Harry
As long as you stay at or under 2000lbs I think they will work fine. I used them to load a 1200lb stumper and it worked great.

2,000 lb. Capacity Set Arched Steel Loading Ramps is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 16.

I must correct my previous review where I stated the ramps failed with my 1800 lb mini-excavator. After research it turns out the official Komatsu published specifications are not correct. The weight as stated is 1855 lbs but in reality the weight is just over 4000 lbs. The failure I experience was not due to the ramps but from relying on published data. I believe the ramps will handle a 2000 lb load.

I had wanted to use these with a 1800 LB mini excavator (specifications call out 1835 lb and I have no way to confirm the weight) but they did not work. The first failure showed the ramps legs splayed out. The second failure was bending at the pivot point. The test setup was at close to ground level with the truck ends sitting on a wood 4x4. The ramps themselves are good quality and I expect they will work with my 600 lb garden tractor but they will just not work, at least for me at the 1800 lb mark.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Meet all expectations 2000 lb. capacity set, Arched Steel Loading Ramps I am using these to load my lawn tractor onto a pickup truck. The tractor plus rider weigh a little more that 1000 lbs so these have plenty of capacity. The truck (F-250) bed is rather high though. Ramps went together very quickly and easily. Tread provided great traction - loading felt very safe and secure. Only downside is that the arch design means that they are a little thick when folded and will not slide under the tractor. The arch does, however, provide more clearance when loading compared to flat ramps.
