What gage steel is the steel

Asked by: Doug
13Ga. Way too thin for a roller of this size. 8Ga. would be far better.

I did not receive a manual with mine, but where do you add the water at. There's 1 screw on side but it will not back out?

Asked by: LindaMac
Your have to use a socket to unscrew the bolt in the fill plug. This will shrink the rubber plug so you can pry it out with a screw driver.

Where can a replacement plug be purchased? All the boat plugs at the local store are too small.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from the problem with the product is it is advertised as a 52' roller when it is only 48" very disappo... the problem with the product is it is advertised as a 52' roller when it is only 48" very disappointed ,the reason I chose this roller is the 52" roll who cares about the pipe that goes through the middle ,a clear choice by advertiser to try and mislead customer .

My roller started leaking this spring, I always drain water out in fall and fill again each spring. I removed the cap over the axle and found the left side had broken around the axle so I rewelded it back too the tank and added a 7/8 washer over the weld and welded it to the tank and axle shaft. This stopped my leak and re-enforced the end of tank . I have seen beer cans thicker than the metal used to make this roller!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not as described Rolling width is 48" NOT 52". Overall width is 52". Shipping/ product box arrived with holes in box from mounting axels and brackets were protruding from large hole in the bottom of the box. Unit appears functional and I'll try to use it. Customer Service has been notified.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 52 inch roller I'm only giving three stars because the threads on the plug were messed up. I had to hold the nut with pliars while tightening with a screwdriver. Then I had to tap it in with a hammer to get it stop leaking. I'm hoping they'll send me a new plug.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from this product is cheaply constructed This is not an HD problem. Ohio Steel makes a cheap product and won't stand behind it. My roller was 3 yrs old. Emptied and stored inside in the winter. The ends where the axle protrudes, began to leak. OS said weld it! Paid $329 for scrap steel. Thank you OS...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great tool Not much to say about a lawn roller. I filled it with water and rolled my lawn, it mashed everything down nice and smooth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well worth the money. So far so good! Most of the items that I order from HD is good quality and always seems to work as advertised. If you're not used to a roller or not sure if your tractor can safely handle the weight, then start with 1/3 full and try the worst terrain that you have to do, then slowly work your way up. Remember--- it's not the starting that is the hardest, it's the stopping and if you're going downhill that weight multiplies exponentially. On hilly terrain carry a wooden wedge to drop in front to avoid a runaway. Otherwise metal roller is the best so it's not puctured by sharp rocks. It may dent but at least it will still be usable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nothing to brag about ! I used this 920lb roller two seasons on about two acres of grass, now it leaks out the axle as fast as I pump water in. There is nothing professional grade about this roller.
