Rated 5 out of 5Â by Grassharvester Really a good quailty effective lawn sweeper
I would buy this sweeper again. I ordered it from Home Depot and it was drop shipped from the mfg, Ohio Steel. Upon unpacking, there were a couple of issues. One, there was a blemish on the housing, most likely from transit. The housing was slightly bent but this did not reduce functionality. A couple of rust spots in the frame from moisture in the packaging bags was also noticed. Assembly was straight forward. I did have a couple of questions and contacted Ohio Steel customer service. Those people are extremely helpful and stand behind their products. Good old-fashioned mid-west American values. I photographed the issues and made them aware. They very quickly offered to send replacement parts for free but that was not warranted.
The sweeper itself performs exceptionally well and is well built. It is into its first season but I have not experienced any problems. Keep in mind that his is a sweeper, and not a vacuum. It sweeps the lawn surface only. It does not suck up debris. Looking forward to fall and he leaf season. The sweeper can be dumped effectively without leaving the tractor seat.
The hopper fills well with a proper travel speed of about 3-4 ft/sec, It is thorough at picking up grass clippings with proper height adjustment. Height adjustment on these type sweepers is critical. Too high and the brushes do not pick up and too low, the wheels are unable to drive the brushes due to drag. If the operator changes mower blade height, the sweeper height must also be adjusted but that is very easily accomplished. Also, sharp undulations in ground surface will reduce effectiveness.
The 42 inch width is good for coverage but before purchase, measure any openings that the unit will have to go through, like the door on the storage facility or such places.
There was a surface treatment or preservative on the tires that resembled silicone or "Armorall" that made them slick but that quickly wore off and they get good traction.
I am impressed with the build quality of this sweeper and it seems the gearing is a quality unit. Also, I am impressed with the customer service at the manufacturer. I would buy this product again.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by mowfun Very Pleased
This sweeper was a second choice after purchasing and returning the awful "universal bagger" attachment for my Ariens tractor. It takes a little extra time to collect the the grass trimmings, having found it works much better to mow first and then travel around with the sweeper attached. However, this thing will pick up almost everything on the first pass, including leaves, small sticks, etc. Highly recommended, and I'm looking forward to the fall and not having to rake the leaves. Minus one star for the rope attachment which just tends to get in the way. Otherwise, a great product.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Mark After 3 years only one problem: Resolved by Ohio Steel
Good product, excellent value.
I tow it behind my lawn tractor and it leaves my lawn looking like a golf course! I have used this for a few seasons, and still no complaints-especially with leaves, pine needles, small twigs, and heavy grass clippings. I dont even have to get off of my tractor to dump it!
Although, after the second year of use, I noticed that the wheels were "cocked inward." After taking them off to find out why, I found that the PLASTIC wheel bearings that had worn out.
I wrote the manufacturer, suggested metal wheel bearings, and had free new replacement parts within a week.
For value, performance, manufacturer support, and durability I'll give it a 9 out of 10!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Peachy1 Review for Lawn Sweeper
shipment and assembly was as expected - not overly complicated but does require some time to put it together - minimal parts to put together for the catcher part.
As for e sweeper - it picks up nicely and our lawn looks so much better after mowing. No complaints with how it works and it is sturdy steel. Overall, very happy with purchase.
When using, it does make it harder to get into tight spots and backup. Also to raise the sweeper, you have to get off the mower, which kills it and then have to restart Our lawns require drivng over rock drives so we have to raise the sweeper over drives to get to the differet areas.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Rick Sturdy and performs well
The shipping box was pretty beaten up upon delivery, but the product was undamaged. Assembly was not nearly as difficult as some of the other reviews indicated. Product is sturdy and so far performs as advertised. I have now used it 3 times without any real problems. Only things I don't like are 1) There's no way to disengage rotation of the brushes. After filling the hamper I then have to drive over to the dump area with the brushes still turning and sweeping areas I don't want to sweep and 2) Doesn't fold for storage, so takes up a fair amount of room. Overall, I'm very impressed with the performance, ease of assembly and value.
