Owned a craftsman professional prior. The wider base and larger bag are definite pros to this unit. The brushes don't seem to turn as quick. This means I have to go slower to ensure all debris is picked up. The brush height adjustment bar is definately more cumbersome. I currently prefere this due to width but if craftsman made w wider modle I would switch back. I currently have a 48" SCAG Zero turn.

The brace for the supports was drilled in the wrong side of the brace bar and we had to drill new holes to put in braces. The pin to hold the brace arms together is held together with a flimsy cotter pin that broke in the first 10 loads. The sweeper does pick up the leaves well after modifications were made. Thankfully we were handy enough to make corrections.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by islndgrl Does the job but, oh those tension rods.
I have 2 acres of pasture/field grass I have to keep mowed. This will let me mechanically collect the grass clippings and remove them. Can't back it up to dump directly onto the compost pile, it jack-knifes, so I dump and fork onto the pile. Getting it put together was okay as long as you were methodical and read ahead in the instructions. All designed for man strength which made it harder for a woman to put together. Getting the tension rods of the hopper in place required two people and one had to be a strong man who could crawl into the hopper to get the job done. This is making my life easier.

I purchased this sweeper because it had a spiral wrapped brush as opposed to linear brushes mounted opposite each other like previous sweepers that I have owned. I assumed that the spiral wrapped brush would be a better design providing constant ground contact. I was surprised to see that the design included a pair of spiral brushes mounted opposite each other as opposed to three or four sets. It seems to me like the previous sweeper I owned included brushes mounted 90 degrees apart. Regardless, it did a pretty good job picking up oak leaves provided it was positioned as low as it would go. Not sure how long the brushes will last in this position as they are showing signs of wear after a couple of hours of sweeping. The 26 cubic foot bag is handy but is difficult to dump due to the weight when full.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mike A sweeper that sweeps
I have 3 acres of lawn and the mower does not have a bagger system. I needed something that I could pull behind the lawn tractor and pick up the clippings. I looked around and this was rated as one of the very systems on the market. A bit pricey but it's sturdy and I was able to sweep the entire lawn.
The only fault I found and this is not a fault of the sweeper was that I could fill the bag very quickly and it seemed I was always going to the dumping grounds after just a few sweeps in the yard. I just have too big of a yard.

Good sweeper but in two hours the bottom wore through at two places on the outside frame.
Definitely needs heavier material on the bottom outside edges.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by john Good for general yard clean up
I have used this yard sweeper many times and it does what I want it to do. My yard is uneven in some areas, so it sometimes does not get all the debre off the ground, but for a good general sweeping it does fine. If you have had a wrench in your hand more then once in your life it is easy to assemble, it took about 45 minutes. It will pick up little sticks and dry leaves fine. I have not tried it on wet leaves. Easy to dump. It does take up a lot of storage space. I store mine standing on its side with the catch bag removed to save some space.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by BigYard I should have bought this a long time ago
I feared putting this together, but it was not bad at all. Directions are clear. I did need to bring in a second person to put the two big pieces together, but it was only because it was easier that way. I think it took me an hour (I am not a fix it person). I have an acre of property and have large amounts of grass clippings that need to be collected. The property is not the smoothest and the sweeper still does a great job. I have yet to do the leaves, but the way it picks up the grass clippings I would imagine it will get the job done. The only negative would be the size of it. It needs a lot of room to store it. You can break it apart and store it but I wouldn't want that hassle. t have a large shed that it fits in so I don't have to worry about it. I should have bought this a long time ago.
