Answer:
Corrugated asphalt fiber roofing is shiny and probably has a slightly higher coefficient of friction than new shiny metal roof, but metal roofing can get light surface corrosion that raises that friction number. Metal is a better conductor of cold so the snow might actually freeze to the metal roof. Corrugated asphalt fiber roofing is shiny and probably has a slightly higher coefficient of friction than new shiny metal roof, but metal roofing can get light surface corrosion that raises that friction number. Metal is a better conductor of cold so the snow might actually freeze to the metal roof. However, once the sun comes out or the air warms, with enough roof pitch, snow will eventually slide off either material, However, since fiberglass-asphalt is a poor conductor of heat or cold and has some insulation value, it may give up the snow slower if temps stay cool or cold. The type of roofing nail or screw used to secure the room may act to further anchor the snow until melting occurs. Read Less

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 26 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great purchase Ondura roofing for shed. easy to install, cut quiet May 8, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not what I was expecting and poor quality I expected the panels to be more rigid and durable, but they are actually very brittle and easily damaged. I discovered holes and cracks from being bent in all the panels when removed from the packaging and returned them to the store for a refund. March 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Asphalt Corrugated roof panel The product provided the results I was looking for. It is not rigid; so, I recommend two people to better handle. It is not heavy at all but hard to handle since it is long and flops. I would recommend to the installer to have handy, some bigger washers than the ones which come with the roofing screws, since it is easy to break through the panel if too much torque in the drill. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent for Farm and Garden use, Highly recommend Ondura sheeting is a great low cost product for outposts, sheds and barns. This was our thrid project using these panels. There light weight and easy to handle and look great. The first project is about fifteen years old and still looking good. February 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by roofing Works great, corners are easy to break, but otherwise its a great product. August 2, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by roofing material only draw back is the weight of the material (dah, it really is a large sheet of shingles). It was easy to cut when necessary. May 17, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Does not stand up to hail Would not recommend in TX or other hail - prone places. The hail stones were smaller than golf balls and went RIGHT THROUGH the Ondura roof panels!!! April 5, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Panels leak My roof leaks. The snow we had this winter melted and ran right through the painted finish on my Ondura panels. My roof is less that 1 year old. never buying their product again. March 12, 2016
