A mophead Hydrangea featuring large, rounded, clusters of pink or blue, depending on soil pH, in early summer. Medium green foliage with stiff stems hold the flower heads up all summer. Deciduous, compact shrub for grouping, in the shrub border, and near the foundation.

  • Very floriferous and long blooming
  • Magnificent as a cut flower for fresh or dried flower arrangements
  • Earlier and longer bloom period than other Hydrangea
  • Superb accent plant near the patio
  • 1 gal. ships in pot unless state or federal regulations require otherwise
  • This plant ships as a bare root plant without its pot and without soil to Arizona, California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington
  • When shipped as a bare root plant, the Shake&Ship system will be used to remove soil from the roots, thus increasing the root tip surface area, which in turn, greatly enhances the ability of the plant to rapidly establish itself in the new environment
  • Performs best in plant growing zones 6 to 8, when grown in other Zones, special care requirements will be required
  • To accommodate mature size or when planting in groups, space 3 ft. away from other plants or structures
  • May ship in a dormant state, with bare branches and no leaves, especially in early spring when plant has been pruned back to promote lateral branching

Customer Questions & Answers

Does this breed turn blue in more acidic soils like most hydrangeas? Or does the pH level only effect the shade of pink?

Asked by: utahgreenthumbwannabe
Nope. Never turns blue, it is called Forever Pink for a reason, because it is forever pink. No matter what you add to the soil.

Is your Forever Pink Hydrangea Perennial Shrub a deep fuschia color or is it a light pink? The one my friend has appeares to be a deep fuschia.

Asked by: pabloss
I have three of them and they have only been a light to medium pink, never fuchsia. Mine are mature and I feed them miracle grow, they produce abundant pink blooms.

I bought two of these. One is very droopy. I'm not sure why. Gets morning sun. I live in Texas. It gets plenty of water

Asked by: Madison
Hello, Madison. From afar, it is hard to say what is happening to your Hydrangea, as factors such as soil type, water quantity, and sunlight are unknown. Hydrangeas will wilt due to water stress, too much or too little sunlight, temperatures that are too hot or too cold, or reaching the end of their blooming period. Many newly planted Hydrangea are prone to wilting episodes too, yet rebound quickly with a little TLC. This Hydrangea is best grown in rich, medium moisture, well-drained soils in part shade. Texas is known for its clay soils and if planted in clay soil, be sure that the water is actually getting to the roots of the plant rather than running off in a different direction; watch for overwatering as well as the plant will not thrive in soils that are consistently wet to the touch. The Hydrangea tolerates full sun only if grown in consistently moist soils. Windy sites will dry out quicker than sheltered areas.
