A broadly pyramidal, evergreen shrub with attractive, lacy, bright golden yellow, foliage sprays. Color deepens in winter to an orangish golden hue. A low maintenance plant for a privacy screen, as an informal hedge, and for a colorful accent.

How long does it tae for these to grow after planting them? Are the hard to mantain and tall do they grow?

I'm a new young home owner and looking to purchase some Golden George Peabody Arborvitae Shrub from Home Depot.. I would like to put up a a old fashion metal gate and I would like the shrubs to cover the gate and become a barrier. Will this be a perfect match for what Im trying to do.

Thank you for your inquiry. The 1-gallon Golden Peabody Arborvitae are about 1 ft. tall right now. Under normal growing conditions, they would reach about 4 ft. tall in about 2 years time. If planted about 4 ft. apart, they would eventually touch each other, becoming a hedge.

Thank you for your question. No plant is truly deer proof, only different levels of browsing preference. Deer can be attracted to Arborvitae, especially when food is scarce.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by much smaller than described Shrub was only 12 to 15 inches tall. It can in a pot smaller than a gallon. It looks like a twig! I bought 2 similar plants 3 to 4 feet tall fully filled out at the local home depot store for only $5.00 more per plant. I will never buy online plants from Home Depot. May 20, 2014
