Will this grow well in western Washington weather? Mill creek, WA?

Asked by: Belle
Hello, thank you for your question. Mill Creek is in USDA Plant Hardiness Zone 8b. The 'Lucifer grows best in USDA Plant Zones 5-9, so you're good there. Some places in Washington can be quite moist. The plant prefers to be watered regularly throughout the growing season, providing enough moisture to saturate the roots, and then withholding water until the top of the soil feels dry. Crocosmia is relatively drought-tolerant and the corms may rot in soggy soil.

Can I plant lucifer in fall in South Carolina?

Asked by: Ela
Hello, thank you for your question. The Crocosmia offered here is not a dormant bulb but rather a plant growing in a nursery pot. It can be planted into the ground now.
