Bought 2- Gal Violets from the Home Depot this Spring and Now they are pretty much Done for the season but have gone to seed, How can I save those Seeds for next spring?. Cut the branches and Put the Seeds In a Jar or Zip Lock Bag and Put in the Semi Heated Garage( Stays about 50 during winter Here In Wi !

Answer: 
Hello. The Purple Showers violet tends to be a biennial. The first year is usually where the plant puts its energy into foliage growth, the second year is for flower production, and then the original plant dies. The variety tends to self seed and will grow for years in the garden, although because it is a hybrid, the subsequent seedlings may not be true to the original type.
