Product Overview

Plant Patent #16,235. Sunrise is a color breakthrough and a huge improvement over older varieties in fragrance and flower size. It is easy to grow, tolerant of every stress from poor soil to drought, and hardy across the country. These deep yellow blooms are fully 4 to 5 in. wide and the stems are as thick as pencils, giving you a few extra days of glory in garden or vase. The blooms turn a lighter, more buttery shade of yellow as they mature, so by the middle of summer, you'll have every shade of yellow blooming at once. Well-branched and sturdy, 'Sunrise' reaches 18 to 24 in. tall and 24 in. wide. As exciting as the color and size of these flowers is the fragrance sweet and even richer on a summer day. The butterflies and bees will have a field day with the huge central cones, as will the songbirds in fall, when the cones dry out into tasty seeds. (Leave your final round of flowers on the plants to enjoy birds delicately perched on the stems, picking out the seeds.)

Customer Reviews

Rated 2.3 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor growth and bloom. Weather this year is good so far cone flower should have done better. Quality of plant was poor. Disappointed with growth. Bought from local Home Depot. July 31, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by This coneflower plant was folded over and squished and very small; there were only 3 stems and just now they have blossomed. I thought the price was average but the quality of the plant poor. I have been watering it everyday and I think the roots finally took hold after 8 weeks as it has produced flowers now....I hope it makes it through the winter! July 24, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Plant died. Plant was held to at store for approximately 1 week. Planted plant when received. Watered plant. following day received about 1.5" of rain. Day after plant was dead. May 14, 2013
