Product Overview

Small, 6 in. tall x 6 in. wide, dense, green foliage clumps produce slender stems of dainty, snow white, bell-shaped, sweetly scented, scalloped edge flowers in late spring. Thrives and spreads rapidly in moist soil. In dry soil, it survives quite well but does not spread. Heat also slows the spread of the plants. Space plants 6-12 in. apart in shade or dense shade. Water them well throughout the year. Fertilize in fall after the first frost. In cold regions, protect plants from severe winter weather by covering beds with mulch in fall. Tiny fruit's are poisonous. Use Lily-of-the-Valley as a border at the edge of the woodland garden, or as a shade loving groundcover.

  • Old fashioned garden favorite
  • Shade groundcover

  • Hardy spreading perennial that is considered drought tolerant and deer resistant
  • 1 qt. pot
  • We're sorry, due to state or federal regulations, this plant cannot be shipped to Arizona, California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington

Answer:
Hello, RunninSuz. The Lily-of-the-Valley prefers a shady area with full or dappled shade. The plants need space to spread, creating a cute ground cover over time. While they may tolerate the dry soil under mature trees, they prefer moist, fertile soils to thrive.

Answer:
Thank you for your inquiry. The Lily-of-the-Valley prefers to be planted outside, either directly into the ground or in an outdoor pot. It is unlikely that the plant will tolerate the inside conditions of an office for an extended period of time.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not 1QT!!!! Of course I was willing to pay the money for 1QT container plant (bought 4) but they were actually 1PINT. Maybe the HomeDepot supplier doesn't know the difference? I feel ripped off :( July 13, 2016

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by the plant did not survive I planted it as soon as I got it. I was disappointed with the quality . It came with only one leave (three inches) and not what was promised (6 by 6 inches) and the roots looked really dry. It did survive a week. I need another plant or a full refund. September 13, 2011
