Product Overview

Dense, uprightly mounding, deciduous shrub with oval, sharply toothed, golden foliage, fading to a golden-green color as the summer progresses. In autumn, the foliage changes again to yellowy orange-red. Tiny, pink, flat-topped, flower clusters cover the foliage in late spring to mid-summer with intermittent blooming until frost. Plant in full sun in most average, well drained soils. Flowers on new wood, so lightly prune if desired in early spring before leaves emerge. Useful in mass, in shrub borders, as a low hedge, or in foundation plantings. We're sorry, but due to state regulations, this plant cannot be shipped to Mississippi.

  • Attractive golden foliage
  • Low hedge by pathways or walkways
  • Pink blooms attract butterflies
  • Multi-season interest
  • 2 gal. ships in pot unless state or federal regulations require otherwise
  • We're sorry, but due to state regulations, this plant cannot be shipped to Mississippi
  • This plant ships as a bare root plant with no soil and no pot when shipped to Arizona, California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington
  • When shipped as a bare root plant, the Shake&Shipsystem will be used to remove soil from the roots, thus increasing the root tip surface area, which in turn, greatly enhances the ability of the plant to rapidly establish itself in the new environment
  • Performs best in plant growing zones 4 to 7, when grown in other Zones, special care requirements will be required
  • To accommodate mature size or when planting in groups, space 3 ft. away from other plants or structures
  • May ship in a dormant state, with bare branches and no leaves, especially in early spring when plant has been pruned back to promote lateral branching

Answer:
Hello. This shrub is not an evergreen but rather deciduous. Its bright golden new spring foliage softens to a yellowish green hue in summer, then changes to deep yellowy-orange in autumn before falling to the ground for the winter season.

Answer:
Hello, the best time to plant most trees & shrubs is in Fall so that the plant can become acclimated to its new environment before winter. Next spring, it will flush with new growth as it will have already adjusted to its new home!
