Product Overview

A vigorous, fast growing, deciduous tree exhibiting reddish brown bark that will exfoliate to reveal a lighter inner bark. Dark green, leathery leaves turn yellow in fall. Showy, drooping, flower catkins appear in spring. A good substitute for Paper Birch, this ornamentally attractive tree makes a nice specimen or plant several for a grouping.

  • Very adaptable and heat tolerant
  • Grows in clay soil and in soils with poor drainage
  • One of the most disease free Birch varieties
  • More adaptable to heat and humidity than other Birch varieties
  • 1 gal. pot - state or federal regulations may require this plant to ship as a bare root plant, without pot and without soil
  • May ship in a dormant state, with bare branches and no leaves
  • Performs best in plant growing zones 4 to 9, when grown in other Zones, special care requirements will be required
  • To accommodate mature size or when planting in groups, space 40 ft. away from other plants or structures
  • When shipped as a bare root plant, the Shake & Ship system has been used to remove soil from roots

Customer Reviews

48 in. River Birch Tree-DISCONTINUED is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Good buy Trees came bare root and in good over-all condition. Shipping was quick. If you are looking for single trunked trees these are just what you want. Trees diameter was surprisingly narrow, but tree did look healthy.
